Rowley is a Hamlet (place) , hamlet In Alberta, Canada within Starland County. It is located just north of Drumheller. History Less than a year before the new millennium, the last train passed through Rowley. In the mid-1970s, Rowley, which had once boasted a population of about 500 in the 1920s, was a beat-up dying community, with rows of empty houses and businesses, and inhabited by only a few dozen prairie-hardened souls. But one night, a few party-happy locals, whose liquor supply was fast dwindling, decided on a quick solution – a "B & E party" at a boarded-up old saloon. The bar was fixed up and named Sam's Saloon after one of the previous owners who had been a respected member of the community. Beth Ann Rowley is an English singer-songwriter. Early life Rowley was born in Peru to British parents who moved back to Bristol, England when Rowley was two years old. Career Early career She was influenced by her family's love for many different musical styles, particularly blues, country, folk, gospel and Latin American music. When aged 16, Rowley formed The Apogee, an original 5 piece funk/soul/ acid jazz group. At age 17, she was spotted at an open mic night in the London entertainment club, Ginglik, in Shepherd's Bush. George Dawson Rowley (3 May 1822 – 21 November 1878) was an English amateur ornithologist who published a series called Ornithological Miscellany in which he reprinted notes on bird studies of the time. George Rowley (born 1964) is a British entrepreneur who is often credited with starting the absinthe revival in the popular market in Western Europe. Rowley was born in England, started his career within insurance and moved to Prague in the early 1990s to assist a local subsidiary. It was in Prague that he first experienced both Czech beer and absinth, and he launched several alcoholic drinks ventures when he moved back to England. In 1996, he founded Bohemia Beer House Ltd. (later BBH Spirits). In 1998 he applied EU directive No. 88/388/EEC (which included the legal limits for thujone) to absinthe. The testing was approved by UK Trading Standards in June 1998. George Rowley (4 April 1782 – 5 October 1836) was Dean and Master of University College, Oxford and Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University. Education Rowley was educated at John Roysse's Free School in Abingdon-on-Thames (now Abingdon School). Career George Rowley was the Dean of University College in the early 19th century, at the time of Percy Bysshe Shelley's expulsion for writing the pamphlet ''The Necessity of Atheism'' in 1811. Elizabeth Rowley (born c. 1949) is the current leader of the Communist Party of Canada. A long-time politician, writer, and political activist, Rowley served as a school trustee in the former Toronto borough of East York. Before becoming leader of the Communist Party of Canada, Rowley was leader of the Communist Party of Ontario. She has been a member of the Central Executive of the Communist Party of Canada since 1978, and has campaigned for office many times at the municipal, federal and provincial levels. Coleen Rowley (born December 20, 1954) is an American former FBI special agent and whistleblower, and was a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) candidate for Congress in Minnesota's 2nd congressional district, one of eight congressional districts in Minnesota in 2006.
