Rodica Arba
Rodica Arba (née Puşcatu; born 5 May 1962) is a retired Romanian rower. She competed at the 1980, 1984 and 1988 Olympics and won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. At the world championships she won four gold, one silver and two bronze medals between 1981 and 1987, mostly in coxless pairs. Arba was born in 1962 in Petricani, Neamț County, Romania. She cites Sanda Toma as her rowing inspiration. She went to the 1980 Summer Olympics as a member of the Romanian women's eight, and won a bronze medal with the team. In the 1981 season, she competed in the coxless pair with team member Elena Horvat, and they won bronze at the 1981 World Rowing Championships at Oberschleißheim near Munich, Germany. Lake Casitas
Lake Casitas is a reservoir in Ventura County, California, built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation and completed in 1959. The project provides drinking water and water for irrigation. A secondary benefit is flood control. It was the venue for canoeing and rowing at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Casitas Dam was constructed on Coyote Creek, two miles (3 km) before it joins the Ventura River. Santa Ana Creek and North Fork Coyote Creek also flow into the lake. The system was designed for water from the Ventura River to be diverted into a canal under specific conditions since the impounded watershed is not sufficient to fill the lake. Katerine Ruth Panter (born 3 May 1962) is a former British rower. She competed in the women's coxless pair event at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Elena Horvat (Hungarian: Ilona Horváth, later Florea, born 4 July 1958) is a retired Romanian rower. She is a world champion and Olympic gold medallist in the coxless pair.
