Rowing Pond
The Rowing Pond was a rowing boat pond in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. When still operating, it was one of the oldest attractions in the park. History Originally the rowing boats were located on a large artificial lake together with canoes. In 1976 the division between the rowing boats and canoes was replaced by a rope bridge. This rope bridge later became part of the decor of the Piraña. The Piraña was partly built on the rowing pond, so the boats had to be moved. The canoes were taken out of the park altogether with the coming of the Flying Dutchman. Later, the rowing boats were abolished as well. Efteling
Efteling () is a fantasy-themed amusement park in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands. The attractions reflect elements from ancient myths and legends, fairy tales, fables, and folklore. The park was opened on May 31, 1952. It evolved from a nature park with a playground and a ''Fairytale Forest'' into a full-sized theme park. It now caters to both children and adults with its cultural, romantic, and nostalgic themes, in addition to its wide array of amusement rides including six roller coasters and four dark rides. Piraña (Efteling)
Piraña is a river rapids ride in amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven, built by Intamin, and opened in 1983. History and details The ride is one of many attractions since the 80’s to diversify in more than just a fairy-tale park. House designer van de Ven took Intamin’s design, as implemented in Six Flags’s Roaring Rapids (Texas, amongst others) and expanded it into a pre-Columbian thematic ride. Flying Dutchman (Efteling)
De Vliegende Hollander ("The Flying Dutchman" in English) is a combination of a water coaster and a dark ride in amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. The ride is based on the legend of Dutch man of war the '' Flying Dutchman''. Ride experience The legend tells that Willem van der Decken, a captain of the Dutch East India Company (VOC, the first limited company), is a wealthy trader in command of the fastest ship of the VOC, named the "Hollander" (Dutchman). But greed takes control of him and secretly he starts practicing piracy. He recruits his crew from orphanages. On Easter 1678, despite a heavy storm blowing into port, he sets sail for the Dutch East Indies. Aquanura
Aquanura is the name of a fountain system in the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands. The premiere took place on 31 May 2012 on the park's 60th anniversary, and it opened to the public the following day. The fountain was developed by WET Design, Efteling and Tebodin Consultants & Engineers. The fountain is the largest in Europe and the third largest in the world, after The Dubai Fountain and the Fountains of Bellagio, though it could better be compared as a smaller version of Disney's ''World of Color''. The show falls within the scope of the Frog King theme. As such, 4 large frog replicas are placed in the pond. The Fountain Aquanura has a total of 200 fountains, subdivided in 9 types, each with its own reach and effect. 4 of the types are custom designed and built for this project, as are the light effects. 800 lamps will be placed in the pond, and 29 light- and audio posts are placed around the pond, with Moving heads on top, all in support of the water show.
