Rower–Inistioge GAA
Rower–Inistioge GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Inistioge area of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with hurling and camogie. History The Rower–Inistioge GAA club was formed in 1955 when the two existing GAA clubs in the local parish agreed to amalgamate. They were Rower GAA, Rower and Inistioge GAA, Inistioge. The club is a senior hurling club in Kilkenny. Rower-Inistioge won the Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2013, beating the Emeralds in the final. They continued on to win the Leinster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, Leinster Intermediate and 2013–14 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship final. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Seán Cummins
Seán Cummins (born 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a substitute right corner-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Cummins joined the team during the 2006, however, he remained on the fringes of the team for a number of years before making his debut in 2009. Tommy Murphy (hurler)
Thomas Murphy (1943 – 14 November 2022) was an Irish hurler. He played for his local club Rower–Inistioge and was a member of the Kilkenny senior inter-county team from 1963 until 1969. Death Thomas Murphy died on 14 November 2022, at the age of 80. Playing career Rower–Inistioge Murphy began his hurling career at club level with Rower–Inistioge. After coming to prominence as an 11-year-old member of the club's successful under-14 team, he progressed through the juvenile and underage ranks before eventually joining the club's senior team. The high point of Murphy's club career occurred on 27 April 1969 when he claimed a Kilkenny Senior Championship title after a 3-09 to 3-07 defeat of Bennettsbridge in the 1968 final. Patrick Lyng (born 2 December 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left wing-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Lyng first played competitive hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Rower–Inistioge club, winning minor and under-21 championship medals. Lyng made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Kilkenny minor team. Joe Lyng
Joseph Lyng (born 10 April 1991) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a midfielder for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Lyng first played competitive hurling in his youth. He enjoyed Leinster success at colleges level with Good Counsel College. An All-Ireland medallist in the intermediate with Rower–Inistioge, Lyng has also won one Leinster medal and one championship medal. Lyng made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team. Richie Leahy
Richard Leahy (born 13 March 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays for Kilkenny Senior Championship club Rower–Inistioge and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a midfielder. Playing career St. Kieran's College Leahy first came to prominence as a hurler with St. Kieran's College in Kilkenny. Having played in every grade as a hurler, he was eventually called up the college's senior team. Eddie Keher
Edward Peter Keher (; born 14 October 1941) is an Irish former hurler who played as a centre-forward at senior level for the Kilkenny county team. Born in Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Keher first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St. Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team. He made his senior debut in the 1959 championship. Keher went on to play a key part for Kilkenny over several seasons, and won six All-Ireland medals, ten Leinster medals and three National Hurling League medals. An All-Ireland runner-up on four occasions, Keher also captained the team to All-Ireland victory in 1969. Pat Kavanagh (Kilkenny Hurler)
Patrick Kavanagh (born 10 November 1945) is an Irish former hurler. He enjoyed a 20-year club career, lining out with Rower–Inistioge, University College Dublin and Borris–Ileigh, and was also a member of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Career Kavanagh first played hurling as a schoolboy with Good Counsel College in New Ross. He later studied at University College Dublin and won two Fitzgibbon Cup medals and a Dublin SHC title during his tenure there. Kavanagh began his club career by winning a Kilkenny JHC title with Rower-Inistioge in 1963 before later winning a Kilkenny SHC title in 1968.
