Rowans Ruin
''Rowans Ruin'' is a 2015 American comic book four issue miniseries was written by Mike Carey and drawn by Mike Perkins. The two developed the idea after Perkins expressed interest in telling "a creepy supernatural story with a lot of twists and fake-outs" and came up with the idea of a story about "two young women doing a house-swap – only to find that one of the houses has some unsettling history to it." Synopsis The comic opens with Katie making an emergency phone call as she tries to escape Rowans Rise. While fleeing she makes mention of several murders that took place during the course of the house's history and refers to an unnamed evil that was born at the house. She emphasizes that if she dies before the police arrive, that it shouldn't be considered anything other a murder. Just as she's getting ready to tell the dispatcher about what or who is committing the murders, Katie is attacked by a male figure with glowing red eyes. Boom! Studios (styled BOOM! Studios) is an American comic book and graphic novel publisher, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, United States. History Origins In the early 2000s, Ross Richie and Andrew Cosby had been working in Hollywood, helping to option comic book projects as producers and working to develop them into films with the studios, but were getting increasingly frustrated with the process. Richie planned to start Boom! to get away from Hollywood. Before Boom!, Richie and Cosby worked briefly with Dave Elliott and Garry Leach in 2004 to revive 1980s comic book publishing house Atomeka Press. Mike Carey (born 1959), also known by his pen name M. R. Carey, is a British writer of comic books, novels and films, whose credits include the long-running '' The Sandman'' spin-off series ''Lucifer'', a three-year stint on ''Hellblazer'', as well as his creator-owned titles '' Crossing Midnight'' and '' The Unwritten'' for DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, a lengthy run on Marvel's ''X-Men'', the 2014 novel '' The Girl with All the Gifts'' and its 2016 film adaptation. Mike Perkins is a British comic book artist known for his inking work and full art duties on comic books such as ''Captain America'', ''Ruse'' and Stephen King's ''The Stand''. Career Mike Perkins began drawing at a very early age. After attending the Bournville College of Art, Birmingham, England he set himself up as a self-employed artist and pursued work in comics. As well as illustrating children's books and educational literature, Perkin's career has encompassed computer game design, album covers and business-centered graphic design, although it is probably for his comic book work that he is more widely known. Animal trapping, or simply trapping or gin, is the use of a device to remotely catch an animal. Animals may be trapped for a variety of purposes, including food, the fur trade, hunting, pest control, and wildlife management.
