Rouzi Maimaiti
Rouzi Maimaiti ( ug, روزا مەمەت, Roza Memet; ; born 4 July 1983) is a Chinese professional snooker player. Career Maimaiti has been a wildcard player at several ranking tournaments before turning professional. He lost the majority of the matches except a 5–1 over Dave Harold in the 2012 Wuxi Classic, before suffering a reverse to Mark Allen in the last 32 stage. Also in the 2012–13 season, Maimaiti entered into the new Asian Players Tour Championship events with little success, winning only one match The 2013/2014 events were much more successful and with eight wins in the four events Maimaiti was able to qualify for one of the four professional World Snooker Tour cards available through the Asian Tour of Merit money list. The China Open is a professional snooker tournament. It is one of a number of Snooker world rankings, ranking tournaments and began in 1997. The reigning champion is Neil Robertson. History The first international snooker tournament in China was the China International in September 1997, a non-ranking tournament for the top 16 players and local players. The following season the tournament became ranking and was held in March. Then the name of the event was changed to China Open and was held in December, so there were two events in 1999. After the 2002 tournament the event was abandoned. The event was revived for the Snooker season 2004/2005, 2004/05 season. Local wild-card players were invited to play against the qualifiers. The three Chinese players on the tour were invited to play as wild-cards, rather than qualify the usual way. History After the establishment of the Players Tour Championship, the Players Tour Championship Finals was first held in 2011 at The Helix in Dublin, between the top 24 players of the Order of Merit, who played at least 6 events; 3 in Sheffield and 3 in mainland Europe. The event was sponsored by PartyCasino.com. In 2012 the event moved to the Bailey Allen Hall in Galway, and was sponsored by Betfair. The 2012 Star Xing Pai Haikou World Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 27 February – 4 March 2012 at the Haikou Stadium in Haikou, China. It was the first time that the tournament was held outside the United Kingdom. World Open (snooker)
The World Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament. Throughout its history, the tournament has undergone numerous revamps and name changes. It started out in 1982 as the ''Professional Players Tournament'', but for most of the 1980s and 1990s it was known as the ''Grand Prix''. It was renamed the '' LG Cup'' from 2001 to 2003 before reverting to the ''Grand Prix'' until 2010. Since then it has been known as the ''World Open''. During 2006 and 2007, it was played in a unique round-robin format, more similar to association football and rugby tournaments than the knock-out systems usually played in snooker. Snooker World Rankings
The snooker world rankings are the official system of ranking professional snooker players to determine automatic qualification and seeding for tournaments on the World Snooker Tour. The ranking lists are maintained by the sport's governing body, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. Each player's world ranking is based on their performances in designated ranking tournaments over the preceding two years. The world ranking list is updated after every ranking tournament. The system of world rankings was inaugurated in the 1976–77 season. Until the 2013–14 season, the point tariffs for each tournament were set by the governing body, but the rankings transitioned to a prize money list in the 2014–15 season. 2019–20 Snooker Season
The 2019–20 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 9 May 2019 and 22 August 2020. In total, 47 events were held during the season: however, the ending of the season was highly disrupted by the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic. 18 world ranking tournaments were planned to take place, but only 17 were played. An event was held in Austria, the first time in any snooker season, while the 2020 China Open was cancelled. The Tour Championship and the World Snooker Championship were postponed, and the Gibraltar Open played with no audience. The season contained 128 professional tour players, 35 of which had been given new two-year places on the tour from a combination of invitations and qualifying events. Judd Trump, the reigning world champion, won a record six ranking titles for a season. Trump also became the second player ever to compile over 100 century breaks in a season. 2018–19 Snooker Season
The 2018–19 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 10 May 2018 and 6 May 2019. The season was made up of ranking tournaments, non-ranking tournaments and variant tournaments. In total, 54 events were competed in the 2018–19 season, beginning with the pro–am 2018 Vienna Open, and ending with the 2019 World Snooker Championship. To be eligible to play in most tournaments, players had to have qualified to play on the World Snooker Tour, however, some wildcard former professional, and amateur players were eligible in certain competitions. The season also saw four events strictly for over 40s, as a part of the World Seniors Tour. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson and Judd Trump each won three ranking events with Mark Allen, Stuart Bingham and Kyren Wilson each winning twice.
