Routh, East Riding Of Yorkshire
Routh is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated is approximately north-east of Beverley, lying on the A1035 road. According to the 2001 UK census, Routh parish had a population of 94. The parish church of All Saints is a Grade II* listed building. Governance Routh is represented locally by Tickton and Routh Parish Council a joint council with the adjacent parish of Tickton. while at county level is in the Beverley Rural ward of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. At a parliamentary level it is part of the Beverley and Holderness constituency which is represented by Graham Stuart of the Conservative Party. Brandon James Routh (; born October 9, 1979) is an American actor. He portrayed Superman in the 2006 film ''Superman Returns'', which garnered him international fame. In 2011, he played the titular character of the film '' Dylan Dog: Dead of Night''. He also had a recurring role in the NBC series ''Chuck'', as Daniel Shaw. Routh also has supporting roles in the films ''Zack and Miri Make a Porno'' and '' Scott Pilgrim vs. the World''. Edward John Routh (; 20 January 18317 June 1907), was an English mathematician, noted as the outstanding coach of students preparing for the Mathematical Tripos examination of the University of Cambridge in its heyday in the middle of the nineteenth century. He also did much to systematise the mathematical theory of mechanics and created several ideas critical to the development of modern control systems theory. Francis John Routh (5 January 1927 – 27 November 2021) was an English composer and author. Education Born in Kidderminster, Routh attended Malvern College and Harrow School before serving in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (1945-8). He read Classics at King's College, Cambridge (where he also learned the organ) and from 1951 studied at the Royal Academy of Music for two years with William Alwyn (for piano) and Wesley Roberts (organ). After that he took private composition lessons with Mátyás Seiber. Martin Joseph Routh (18 September 175522 December 1854) was an English classical scholar and President of Magdalen College, Oxford (1791–1854). Birthplace and Oxford career Routh was born at South Elmham, Suffolk, son of the Rev. Peter Routh, rector there and his wife, Mary Reynolds. He matriculated at The Queen's College, Oxford, on 31 May 1770 and on 24 July 1771, was elected to a demyship at Magdalen College. He graduated B.A. on 5 February 1774 and was elected on 25 July 1775 to a fellowship of his college. On 23 October 1776 he took an MA, proceeding B.D. in 1786, and D.D. on 6 July 1790. On 21 December 1777, he received deacon's orders from Philip Yonge, Bishop of Norwich; but did not take priest's orders until 1810.
