Josh Routh
Josh Routh (born September 27, 1978) is an American circus performer, and a founding member of the comedic troop Brothers Kaputnik, Death By Tickle and Circus Kaput. Josh trained at the Circus Center in San Francisco, California and attended the Clown Conservatory where he graduated "Class Clown". As Tchotchke, his alter ego, Josh has performed with The New Pickle Circus (formerly the Pickle Family Circus, The San Francisco Youth Circus, The Much Ado Shakespeare Circus and Velocity Circus. Biography Josh Routh grew up in a working-class neighborhood of Florissant in St. Louis Missouri. In an interview with Wayne Keyser of Ballycast, he blames his circus career on his mother who didn't know what to do with him. He had many behavior and learning disabilities. Circus Kaput is an intimate theatrical circus and entertainment company based in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, it began as show that benefitted non-profit social causes. It was started by Josh Routh in 2003. Circus Kaput performances have different type of acts: street performance, classic circus, dance, and comedy. Pickle Family Circus
The Pickle Family Circus was a small circus founded in 1974 in San Francisco, California, United States. The circus formed an important part of the renewal of the American circus. They also influenced the creation of Cirque du Soleil in Montreal. Neither circus features animals or use the three-ring layout like the traditional circus. History After working with the San Francisco Mime Troupe, the Pickle Family Jugglers (founded by Peggy Snider, Larry Pisoni, and Cecil MacKinnon) decided to create the Pickle Family Circus. Florissant () is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, within Greater St. Louis. It is a middle class, second-ring northern suburb of St. Louis. Jeff Raz is an American clown, actor, teacher, and director. He founded and served as director of the Clown Conservatory in San Francisco, California, the country's only remaining professional clown training program from 2000 to 2010. As a performer he has had leading roles with Vaudeville Nouveau, Make*A*Circus, Pickle Family Circus, and Cirque du Soleil. Background Raz grew up in Berkeley, California, in the 1970s. Gypsy Snider
Gypsy Snider (born 1970) is a Canadian–American director, choreographer, and former acrobat. She co-founded The 7 Fingers, an artist collective, and choreographed Pippin in 2013. Early life and education Snider's mother Peggy and stepfather Larry Pisoni co-founded the Pickle Family Circus, which her brother Lorenzo Pisoni also performed in as a clown and actor. She made her Pickle Family Circus debut at the age of four as a circus performer. Snider attended The Urban School of San Francisco with fellow acrobats Ayin and Miriam de Sela and later the Scuola Teatro Dimitri physical-theater school in Switzerland. Cirque du Soleil (, ; "Circus of the Sun" or "Sun Circus") is a Canadian entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world.
