M-247 is a north–south state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan, connecting M-13 to the Bay City Recreation Area, entirely within Bangor Township. As a state trunkline, M-247 runs north from M-13 before turning to access the park, a distance of . The highway carries just over 6,000 vehicles a day on average. The roadway has been part of the state trunkline highway system since the 1920s, and from 1961 until 1998, it was the highest non- Interstate highway in the state. Before it was given the M-247 designation, the roadway has been a part of M-111 and M-47. The M247 Sergeant York DIVAD (Division Air Defense) was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG), developed by Ford Aerospace in the late 1970s. Based on the M48 Patton tank, it replaced the Patton's turret with a new one that featured twin radar-directed Bofors 40 mm rapid-fire guns. The vehicle was named after Sergeant Alvin York, a famous World War I hero. The Sergeant York was intended to fight alongside the M1 Abrams and M2 Bradley in the U.S. Army, in a role similar to the Soviet ZSU-23-4 and German Flakpanzer Gepard. It would replace the M163 Vulcan Air Defense System SPAAG and MIM-72 Chaparral missile, ''ad hoc'' systems of limited performance that had been introduced when the more advanced MIM-46 Mauler missile failed to mature. Maryland Route 247 (MD 247) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Loveville Road, the state highway runs from MD 5 in Loveville north to Oakville Road in Oakville. MD 247, which serves as a connector between MD 5 and MD 235 in northern St. Mary's County, was constructed in the early 1940s. Route description MD 247 begins at an intersection with MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) in Loveville. The state highway heads north as a two-lane undivided road through farmland. MD 247 intersects MD 235 (Three Notch Road) in Oakville before reaching its northern terminus at Oakville Road, the old alignment of MD 235.
