Rough Night In Jericho (film)
''Rough Night in Jericho'' is a 1967 American Western film in Techniscope, directed by Arnold Laven and starring Dean Martin, George Peppard and Jean Simmons. The picture was based on the novel ''The Man in Black'', written in 1965 by Marvin H. Albert, who also co-wrote the screenplay. The supporting cast includes John McIntire and Slim Pickens. ''Rough Night in Jericho'' is the only film in which Dean Martin portrayed the villain. Plot A stagecoach bound for the town of Jericho is ambushed by Alex Flood, a lawman gone bad. Sharpshooting from a safe distance, Flood wounds the coach's driver, Ben Hickman, who is brought to town by the only passenger, a gambler named Dolan. Hickman is a former Santa Fe lawman and Dolan was once his deputy. They now are partners in the stage line with Molly Lang, whom they have come to Jericho to meet. Arnold Laven
Arnold Laven (February 3, 1922 – September 13, 2009) was an American film and television director and producer. He was one of the founders and principals of the American film and television production company Levy-Gardner-Laven. Laven was a producer of, among other things, the western television series ''The Rifleman'' and ''The Big Valley''. He also directed motion pictures, including ''Without Warning!'', ''The Rack (1956 film), The Rack'', ''The Monster That Challenged the World'', ''Geronimo (1962 film), Geronimo'', ''Rough Night in Jericho (film), Rough Night in Jericho'', and ''Sam Whiskey''. Richard O'Brien (American Actor)
Edward Patrick O'Brien (July 14, 1917 – March 29, 1983) was an American film and television actor. O'Brien was born in Fargo, North Dakota. He worked as a radio announcer in North Dakota before moving to Hollywood in the 1930s. He began appearing in films, and also worked as a manager at the Carthay Circle Theatre. During World War II he gave up acting to work as a stevedore in the San Francisco docks. In 1953 O'Brien appeared in the television series '' This Is the Life'', later making three appearances in ''Harbor Command''. Paria or Pahreah (, rhymes with "Maria"), is a ghost town on the Paria River in Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument in central Kane County, Utah, United States. It was inhabited from 1870 to 1929, and later used as a filming location. History The area was first settled in 1865 by a Mormon group led by Peter Shirts. This early settlement was named ''Rockhouse'', for Shirts's strongly built sandstone house. After the end of the Black Hawk War in 1867 settlers began to arrive at a rapid pace.
