Rosstroy
Rosstroy (sometimes Rosstroi) was the governmental agency for construction and residential and utilities services in Russia. It was the successor of Gosstroy, a Soviet Union, Soviet agency. The full name of the authority is ''Federal agency of construction, housing and housing services of the Russian Federation''. The agency was abolished by D.A. Medvedev's Decree (Ukase) N 724 of 12 May 2008. Since 2013, its responsibilities are in the hands of Ministry of Construction Industry, Housing and Utilities Sector. External linksRosstroy website

Gosstroy
The Gosstroy (russian: Госстрой) or State Committee for Construction in the Soviet Union (Gosstroy) was the government body for the implementation of national planning, monitoring and management in the construction sector of the USSR. It handled numerous construction projects (with the exception of military and nuclear power generation). According to the Soviet Constitution the committee was under the Union-Republican body. The committee had a seal with the coat of arms of the Soviet Union and emblems of the Union and autonomous republics. History It was formed on 9 May 1950. The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities (Minstroy) (russian: Министерство строительства и жилищно-коммунального хозяйства Российской Федерации (Минстрой России)) is a government ministry in the Cabinet of Russia. In Imperial Russia, a ukase () or ukaz (russian: указ ) was a proclamation of the tsar, government, or a religious leader (patriarch) that had the force of law. "Edict" and "decree" are adequate translations using the terminology and concepts of Roman law. From the Russian term, the word ''ukase'' has entered the English language with the meaning of "any proclamation or decree; an order or regulation of a final or arbitrary nature".
