Rosslare Strand Railway Station
Rosslare Strand railway station ( ga, Stáisiún Thrá Ros Láir) is in Rosslare Strand, County Wexford, Ireland. It is the junction of the Dublin–Rosslare railway line and the Limerick–Rosslare railway line, the Rosslare Strand to Waterford section of which is mothballed. Description A ticket machine is provided at the entrance and there are shelters on the platforms. There is also a small car park currently free of charge to rail users. Since spring 2014 the station has been unstaffed and the ticket office, waiting room, and toilets are no longer open. There is full accessibility to the first platform, with access to the second platform via a wicket gate or footbridge. There are two platforms, one on the passing loop. The mothballed South Wexford section of the Limerick-Rosslare railway line can be accessed only via the second platform, the junction being on the passing loop. Rosslare Strand
Rosslare Strand, or simply Rosslare ( or 'middle wood'), is a village and seaside resort in County Wexford, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The name Rosslare Strand is used to distinguish it from the nearby community of Rosslare Harbour, site of the Rosslare Europort. Tourism Rosslare has been a tourist resort for at least 100 years. It is noted as the "sunniest spot in Ireland", and records bear this out: Rosslare has consistently more sunshine hours that any other part of Ireland. The long sandy strand is a Blue Flag beach. The beach itself consists of sand and stone running the length of the southern peninsula which protrudes into Wexford Harbour. It is segmented by a series of timber breakwaters which are designed to retain sandy deposits along the beach. There are a number of golf courses in the vicinity. Bridgetown Railway Station
Bridgetown railway station or Bridgetown halt (Irish: Baile an Droichid) served the village of Bridgetown, County Wexford, Ireland. It was unstaffed and accessible only via a picket gate. History The station opened on 1 August 1906 and closed on 18 September 2010. The rail service was replaced by a revised Bus Éireann route 370 from Monday 20 September 2010: Wexford Bus operate a shuttle bus service to Wexford and Kilmore Quay three times a day (two on Wednesday and no Sunday service). Rosslare Europort railway station ( ga, Stáisiún Chalafort Ros Láir) serves Rosslare Harbour in County Wexford, Ireland. The station is owned and operated by Iarnród Éireann and is the southern terminus of the Dublin–Rosslare railway line. Description There is only one platform and a runaround loop. There is a turntable, used on occasion by preserved steam locomotives. The station is staffed but has no ticket office. There is a ticket machine at the entrance to the platform.
