Ricardo Rossel
Ricardo Rossel Sirot (12 May 1841 – 6 December 1909) was a Peruvian author, poet, politician, scholar, and entrepreneur, and the founder of the ''Club Literario de Lima''. Biography Ricardo Rossel was born in Lima to the French immigrant Eugenio Rossel, a gentleman from the Nîmes region of Languedoc, who arrived in Peru in 1826 and established one of the first French imports stores in Lima, and Carmen Sirot, a distinguished lady from Lima. He had four siblings, Manuel Eugenio, Carlos Amador, Rosalia and Isidro. Rossel studied at the Seminario de Santo Toribio, earning all the first prizes and also a gold medal in his final year of higher education. In the early years of his schooling, he showed a natural disposition and interest in literature. Rossel Island (Yela)
Rossel Island (named after de Rossel, a senior officer on the French expedition of Antoine Bruni d'Entrecasteaux, d'Entrecasteaux, 1791-1793; also known as Yela) is the easternmost island of the Louisiade Archipelago, within the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea. Tree Islet is situated to the north-west, while Wule Island is situated westward. Geography The mountainous island measures east-west, and is up to wide. With an area of , it is the second largest island of the archipelago, after Vanatinai. The higher parts of the island are almost constantly cloud-capped during the southeast monsoon. Eduard Ergartovich Rossel (russian: Эдуард Эргартович Россель; born 8 October 1937) is a Russian politician, who was the governor (1995–2009) of Sverdlovsk Oblast, an oblast in Russia. He returned into office in 1995. He is a member of the Federation Council of Russia. Childhood and war Eduard Rossel was born in Bor, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to Volga German parents. His father was executed by the NKVD in 1938 and he was left living with his mother, who at that time found a Ukrainian man and married him instead. Rossel's original language was German, but due to his mother's marriage to a Soviet national, the German language was abandoned and Russian kicked in. He lived with his mother and stepfather until 1942, when both of his parents were forced into oppressive “labor camps” in Ukhta. Louis Rossel
Louis-Nathaniel Rossel (9 September 1844 28 November 1871) was a French army officer and a politician. On 19 March 1871, he became the only senior French officer to join up with the Paris Commune, playing an important role as Minister of War. Biography He was born on 9 September 1844 in Saint-Brieuc, Côtes-d'Armor, but his father was a scion of a strongly republican Huguenot (Protestant) Nîmes family, and descended from Saint-Jean-du-Gard Camisards. His mother, born Sarah Campbell, was from Scotland. Rossel was educated at the Prytanée Militaire, and was executed on 28 November 1871 at the Satory military centre at Versailles. When Rossel became Minister of War, replacing Gustave Paul Cluseret after the abandonment of Fort Issy, he immediately ordered the construction of a new ring of barricades within the existing ramparts in case the Government forces penetrated the first line of defense. Marie-Thérèse Rossel
Marie-Thérèse Rossel (1 February 1910 – 18 June 1987) was a Belgian newspaper editor and businesswoman who headed the Rossel publishing company for fifty years. Born in Ixelles, her father Victor Rossel was editor and manager of '' Le Soir'', a French language newspaper published in Belgium founded by Victor's father Émile Rossel. During the First World War and the occupation of Belgium by Germany, the family went into exile at Bournemouth in England. On their return, Marie-Thérèse worked in the family business and succeeded her father as head of the family company on his death in 1935 when she was aged only 25. She headed the company in its various forms until her death. Martin Rössel (born 8 April 1959), is a Swedish musician and producer. Together with Lars Cleveman, he founded Sweden's first electronic underground group, Dom Dummaste. Reszel (german: Rößel; Prussian: ''Resel'' or ''Resl'') is a town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northeastern Poland. As of 2012 the population was 4,896. A small medieval town situated in the historical Warmia region, Reszel possesses many architecturally-renowned monuments and various attractions. The gothic castle, the main square and the core surrounded by brick defense walls are very popular among incoming tourists. History Reszel was originally a settlement built by the Bartian tribe of Old Prussians and conquered by the Teutonic Knights in 1241.
