Rosine Mbakam
Rosine Mbakam (born in 1980) is a Cameroonian film director based in Belgium. She has directed many short films and full-length feature films, of which the most well-known are documentaries. ''Les deux visages d'une femme Bamiléké/The Two Faces of a Bamiléké Woman'' (2016) and ''Chez Jolie Coiffure'' (2018) won a number of international prizes. Her recent films, including ''Les prières de Delphine/Delphine’s Prayers'' (2021), have been very successful and have received much attention from US news sources, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, LA Times, Variety, and NPR. Cinéma du Réel (Cinema of the Real) is an international documentary film festival organized by the BPI-Bibliothèque publique d'information (Public Information Library) in Paris and was founded in 1978. African Film Festival, Inc. (AFF) is a non-profit cultural organization that presents an annual film festival and year-round community programs. The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Festival panafricain du cinéma et de la télévision de Ouagadougou or FESPACO) is a film festival in Burkina Faso, held biennially in Ouagadougou, where the organization is based. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits".
