Logan County (formerly Sarber County) is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 22,353. Its two county seats are Booneville and Paris. History The Arkansas General Assembly defined the state's 64th county on March 22, 1871, incorporating parts of Scott, Yell, and Pope counties (later adding part of Franklin County). They named it Sarber County for John Newton Sarber (1837–1905), an attorney and Republican state senator from Yell County. He had introduced the resolution to organize the county. Born and reared in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he had moved with his widowed father and family to Kansas in 1855. Sarber became influential in the Arkansas legislature, introducing bills to establish a public school system for the first time, and what developed as the University of Arkansas. Roseville Township is a township in Grant County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 154 at the 2000 census. Roseville Township was organized in 1878, and named for the wild roses which grew there when the first settlers came. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.1 km), of which 35.2 square miles (91.3 km) is land and 0.7 square mile (1.8 km) (1.89%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 154 people, 52 households, and 43 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.4 people per square mile (1.7/km). The city of Regal is located within the township geographically but is a separate entity. History Roseville Township was organized in 1866, and named for the abundance of wild roses within its borders. Traill County, North Dakota
Traill County is a county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 census listed the population at 7,997. Its county seat is Hillsboro, and its largest city is Mayville. History The Dakota Territory legislature created the county on January 12, 1875, with areas partitioned from Burbank (now Barnes), Cass, and Grand Forks counties. It was named for Walter John Strickland Traill, an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company and son of Canadian pioneer Catharine Parr Traill. The first county building was a small single-story building in Caledonia. Several replacement courthouses were built during the late 19th century and several votes to move the county seat to Mayville narrowly failed. Efforts to move the county seat to Hillsboro were more successful, and all county records were moved there in 1890.
