Roseville, New South Wales
Roseville is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of Ku-ring-gai and Willoughby. Roseville Chase is a separate suburb to the east. History William Henry was one of Ku-ring-gai's first European settlers, who used the area for farming. There were a few fruit orchards and market gardens in the area. Other significant settlers were David Mathew, who owned a property called Clanville, and Richard Archbold, who was granted an area of adjacent to Clanville. Archbold later acquired Clanville and set up an orchard on the property. Archbold's son-in-law had a stone cottage called ''Rose Villa'', which was later demolished to make way for the North Shore railway line. Roseville eventually derived its name from ''Rose Villa''. It is one of two Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Twin Cities suburbs that are adjacent to both Saint Paul and Minneapolis (the other is Lauderdale, Minnesota, Lauderdale). Roseville, Pennsylvania
Roseville is a borough in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 177 at the 2020 census. History Roseville was first settled by its namesake, Dr. William Rose in 1806. Dr. Rose migrated to Tioga County from Rutland, Vermont. He served as a frontier doctor for the citizens of eastern Tioga and western Bradford Counties. Rose built a distillery at Roseville in 1822, soon after his son, William Rose Jr., opened a tavern. The tavern quickly became the center of commerce in Roseville. The tavern was replaced by a hotel built to serve the needs to travelers between Mansfield and Elmira, New York. Roseville was home to several businesses that served the needs of the people of Tioga County during the late 1800s and early 1900s. A gristmill was opened as was a cheese factory and a paint plant, but the principal form of business remained in the taverns along the highway. Roseville is a village in Muskingum and Perry counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, along Moxahala Creek. The population was 1,746 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Zanesville micropolitan area. Roseville is served by a branch of the Muskingum County Library System. History Roseville was laid out in 1812 by Ezekiel Rose. Roseville is a neighborhood in the city of Newark in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. It borders Bloomfield and East Orange. To the neighborhood's immediate east is the Newark City Subway and Branch Brook Park. Roseville is a city in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan, and is a part of the Metro Detroit area. The population was 47,299 at the 2010 census. Until 1958, Roseville was a part of Erin Township. History The first permanent post office in the area was established in 1840 by William Rose who named it the Roseville Post Office in honor of his father Dennison Rose, a veteran of the War of 1812. The Village of Roseville was incorporated in 1926 and the Municipal Building was constructed in 1929 at Gratiot Avenue and Meier Road. This replaced the Erin Township Building that was built near the corner of 11 Mile Road and Gratiot in 1886. The 1929 building housed administrative offices as well as the police and fire departments until the 1960s when separate police and fire stations were constructed.
