Rosemary Frankau
Rosemary A. Frankau (14 April 1933 – 16 April 2017) was a British actress, born in Marylebone, London. She played Beattie Harris in nine series of the sitcom ''Terry and June'' between 1979 and 1987. Early life and career Frankau was evacuated to Kent during the London Blitz, afterwards attending boarding school at Monkton Wyld in Dorset, her school fees being paid for by her aunt, the literary scholar Joan Bennett. She attended RADA and graduated from there in her 20s before going on to work in repertory theatre during the 1950s, working for Hazel Vincent Wallace at Leatherhead Theatre. Frankau's first television appearance was in an episode of the BBC's ''Sunday Night Theatre'' (1954); she acted in ''Emergency-Ward 10'' and ''The New Adventures of Charlie Chan'', both in 1957. Marylebone (usually , also , ) is a district in the West End of London, in the City of Westminster. Oxford Street, Europe's busiest shopping street, forms its southern boundary. ''No Hiding Place'' is a British television series that was produced at Wembley Studios by Associated-Rediffusion for the ITV network between 16 September 1959 and 22 June 1967. It was the sequel to the series ''Murder Bag'' (1957–1958) and ''Crime Sheet'' (1959), all starring Raymond Francis as Detective Superintendent, later Detective Chief Superintendent Tom Lockhart. Production ''No Hiding Place'' carried on from where the TV series ''Murder Bag'' and ''Crime Sheet'' left off. ''No Place Like Home'' is a BBC situation comedy series, created, and written by Jon Watkins. It was directed, produced by Robin Nash, starring William Gaunt and Patricia Garwood as Arthur and Beryl Crabtree. Arthur has a brand new life planned with Beryl now that the last of their four children have left home, or so he believes. ''No Place Like Home'' was broadcast for five series between 1983 and 1987. Technically, six series were made, but series 3 (7 episodes), which was intended for broadcast in 1985, was subsequently aired from January 1986, back to back with series 4 (6 episodes). ''The Cleopatras'' is a 1983 BBC Television eight-part historical drama serial. Written by Philip Mackie, it is set in Ancient Egypt during the latter part of the Ptolemaic Dynasty with an emphasis on the Cleopatras. Intended to be the ''I, Claudius (TV series), I, Claudius'' of the 1980s, ''The Cleopatras'' met with a decidedly mixed critical reaction. It was regarded and portrayed as a gaudy farce. The series was generally poorly received despite the impressive cast. The series also managed to produce a number of complaints due to the instances of nudity in the series. ''The Cleopatras'' was novelised by Mackie in 1983 as a tie in with the series. The title and incidental music was written and composed by Nick Bicât. ''The Duchess of Duke Street'' is a BBC television drama series set in London between the late 1800s and 1925. It was created by John Hawkesworth, previously the producer of the ITV period drama '' Upstairs, Downstairs''. It starred Gemma Jones as Louisa Leyton Trotter, the eponymous "Duchess" who works her way up from servant to renowned cook to proprietor of the upper-class Bentinck Hotel in Duke Street, St. James's, in London. ''Robin's Nest'' is a British sitcom made by Thames Television, which aired on the ITV network for six series from 11 January 1977 to 31 March 1981. It saw Richard O'Sullivan reprise the role of Robin Tripp, one of the lead characters in the sitcom ''Man About the House'', which had ended on 7 April 1976, and co-starred Tessa Wyatt as Robin's girlfriend – and later wife – Vicky, and Tony Britton as her father. ''The Dustbinmen'' is a British television sitcom made by Granada Television for ITV, which starred Bryan Pringle, Trevor Bannister, Graham Haberfield and Tim Wylton. The show was a spin-off from a one-off 90-minute television film ''There's a Hole in Your Dustbin, Delilah'' (1968) written by Jack Rosenthal and directed by Michael Apted.
