Rosehill is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Rosehill is located 18 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Parramatta and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. Rosehill shares the postcode of 2142 with the separate suburbs of Granville, South Granville, Holroyd and Camellia. Rosehill contains a mixture of residential, commercial, industrial and recreational land, with increased high-density housing proposed. History In the early days of the colony, the hill behind old Government House had been named ‘ Rose Hill’ by Governor Arthur Phillip, before the suburb had been named Parramatta. Jay Rosehill
Jay Rosehill (born July 16, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL), and the Manchester Storm of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Rosehill was mostly known as an enforcer in hockey. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Rosehill was selected in the seventh round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (227th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He continued to play for the Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL in the 2003–04 season. The next season, he played for University of Minnesota Duluth of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. For most of the next four seasons, he was placed in the Tampa Bay Lightning farm system, playing for both Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League in 2005-06 and 2006–07. Rosehill (Gambrills, Maryland)
Rosehill is a historic home and property at Gambrills, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The property consists of of partially wooded and cleared land on which are located a dwelling and six outbuildings. The dwelling displays a complex construction evolution originating from a mid-18th-century frame, -story double-pile plan house with an unusual short side passage. This is believed to be the first documented example of this form in the Chesapeake Bay region. The six outbuildings include an early-19th-century frame corn house, a documented 1821 frame tobacco barn, a log outbuilding, a late-19th-century stable, and a late-19th- or early-20th-century pumphouse. The Hopkins family owned the property for 173 years, from 1799 until 1972. Rosehill Cemetery
Rosehill Cemetery (founded 1859) is an American garden cemetery on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois, and at , is the largest cemetery in the City of Chicago. According to legend, the name "Rosehill" resulted from a City Clerk's error – the area was previously called "Roe's Hill", named for nearby farmer Hiram Roe. He refused to sell his land to the city until it was promised that the cemetery be named in his honor. It is located in the north east section of the Lincoln Square community area. Rosehill's Joliet-limestone entrance gate (added in 1864) was designed by William W. Boyington, the architect of the Chicago Water Tower and the Old University of Chicago, who is buried in Rosehill. The Rosehill Cemetery Administration Building and Entry Gate was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Townhill is the name of a hill, a residential district and a community (civil parish) and electoral ward in Swansea, Wales, UK. It had a population of 8,696 in 2011.
