''Rose Against the Odds'' is a 1991 two-part Australian miniseries written and directed by John Dixon. It chronicles the life of Australian Aboriginal boxer Lionel Rose.Ed. John Dixon (filmmaker)
John Dixon (died 1999) was an Australian screenwriter and director best known for his association with Geoff Burrowes. Career Dixon served in the Australian army as a translator with the occupying forces in Japan. He returned to Melbourne and obtained an Arts Degree at Melbourne University then travelled to London, where he trained as a film editor and worked for Technicolour and Elstree Studios. He moved back to Australia and worked for Channel 7 as a TV director on a number of shows. He started World of Sport with Ron Casey directing the first two hundred episodes. He moved to Channel Nine and directed a series of documentaries.Biography

Reg Ansett
Sir Reginald Myles Ansett KBE (13 February 1909 – 23 December 1981) was an Australian businessman and aviator. He was best known for founding Ansett Transport Industries, which owned one of Australia's two leading domestic airlines between 1957 and 2001. He also established a number of other business enterprises including Ansett Pioneer coachlines, Ansett Freight Express, Ansair coachbuilders, Gateway Hotels, Diners Club Australia, Biro Bic Australia and the ATV-0 television station in Melbourne and TVQ-0 in Brisbane which later became part of Network Ten. Robert "Bob" Ansett (born 8 August 1933 in Melbourne) is an Australian entrepreneur, actor, author, motivational speaker and former sports team chairman. Early life Ansett is the son of Reg (Order of the British Empire) and Grace Ansett.
