Rosalie Cunningham (born 25 April 1990) is an English singer-songwriter. After the split of the band Ipso Facto, Cunningham started a new project named Purson. She has performed as a solo artist since 2017. Career Cunningham was born in Southend-on-Sea, started her first commercial band Ipso Facto in 2007, releasing the singles "Harmonise" / "Balderdash" (Disc Error) in October 2007, "Ears And Eyes" (PureGroove) in August 2008, "Six And Three Quarters" / "Circle Of Fifths" Mute Records in October 2008. Rose Selfridge
Rosalie Amelia Selfridge (née Buckingham; 5 July 1860 – 12 May 1918) was a property developer before becoming the wife of department store magnate Harry Gordon Selfridge. A member of the wealthy Buckingham family of Chicago, she inherited a large amount of property. Well educated, she had traveled extensively by the time she met Harry Selfridge in the late 1880s. After they were married, the couple remained in Chicago and Rose enjoyed society and the company of her family. Later, they moved to London when Harry built his new department store on Oxford Street. During World War I, she operated their Dorset estate as a convalescent hospital. Rose died during the Spanish flu pandemic. Rosalie Ulrika Olivecrona, née Roos (December 9, 1823 – June 4, 1898), was a Swedish feminist activist and writer. She is one of the three great pioneers of the organized women's rights movement in Sweden, alongside Fredrika Bremer and Sophie Adlersparre. She grew up in Stockholm and was among the first students at the '' Wallinska flickskolan'' in Stockholm, one of the oldest girls' school in Sweden dating to 1831. Rosalie Rendu (9 September 1786 – 7 February 1856) was a Daughter of Charity who was a leading worker and organizer of care for the poor of 19th-century Paris' teeming slums, suffering from the rapid migration of people to the cities during the course of the Industrial Revolution. ''Rosalie'' Ingeborg Karolina Fougelberg (29 December 1841 – 8 May 1911) is known as Sweden's first female dentist after the profession was opened to women. She was the daughter of the dentist of the Royal Court of Sweden, and her father's assistant. In 1861, the dentist profession was legally opened to women. Fougelberg tried twice to get her dentist's certificate; the second time, she was approved by the medical examiners but not by the dentistry representative. During her third try in 1866, the examination was supervised by the press. She was still turned down by the Collegium Medicum, but given a royal dispensation by the monarch, Charles XV of Sweden. She was thereby the first woman dentist since the profession was opened for women: Amalia Assur had been licensed before, but she was given a special permission, before the profession was officially opened to women. Rosalie Filleul (1752 – June 24, 1794) was a French pastellist and painter. She was born in Paris, and was concierge of the Château de la Muette. Although she initially supported the French Revolution, she nevertheless became disillusioned by its excesses and mourned the execution of Louis XVI. Somewhat indiscreetly, at the height of the Terror, she made arrangements to sell some of the furniture at the Château de la Muette to a secondhand dealer. This was reported to the authorities and she was arrested on charges of theft and concealment of biens nationaux – property belonging to the Republic. Rosalie Filleul was found guilty and guillotined in 1794, along with her friend Mme Chalgrin, despite the attempted intervention of Chalgrin's brother Carle Vernet. Rosalie Emslie (26 January 1891 – 1977) was a British artist known for her landscape and portrait paintings. Biography Emslie was born in London into an artistic family. Her grandfather was the engraver John Emslie while her father was the artist Alfred Edward Emslie and her mother was the noted miniature painter Rosalie M. Emslie. Although born in London, the family home being in Poland Street in Westminster, after 1901 she lived for a time in Otford in Kent with her mother and aunt. The younger Rosalie Emslie was privately educated before attending the Royal Academy Schools between 1913 and 1918. She went on to study in Spain, Italy and France. Rosalie Barrow Edge (November 3, 1877 – November 30, 1962) was an American environmentalist and suffragist. In 1929, she established the Emergency Conservation Committee to expose the conservation establishment's ineffectiveness and advocate for species preservation. In 1934, Edge also founded the world's first preserve for birds of prey—Hawk Mountain Sanctuary near Kempton, Pennsylvania. Edge was considered the most militant conservationist of her time, and she clashed publicly for decades with leaders of the Audubon Society over approaches to wildlife preservation.
