''Rosa'' 'Black Baccara' (aka 'MEIdebenne') is a dark burgundy Hybrid tea rose cultivar, bred by French rose hybridizer, Jacques Mouchotte, before 2000. Meilland International introduced the rose in France in 2000. The rose was also introduced in America by Star Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle in 2002. Description 'Black Baccara' is a tall, upright hybrid tea rose, in height, with a spread. Bloom size ranges from . It has a high-centered, very full (41+ petals) bloom form. The flowers are dark red-burgundy with a velvety texture. They are carried mostly solitary on strong, thick stems and bloom in flushes from spring to fall. Flowers have little or no fragrance. ''Rosa'' 'Carefree Wonder', (aka MEIpitac), is a shrub rose cultivar, bred by Allain Melland, of Meillaind rose growers, in France in 1990. The rose was named an All-America Rose Selections winner in 1991. Description 'Carefree Wonder' is a low growing bushy shrub, 3 to 4 ft (90—120 cm) in height with a 2 to 3 ft (60—90 cm) spread. Blooms have an average diameter of 4-5 in (10—12cm) with a petal count of 16 to 25, double petals. The flowers have a cupped form. Flowers are bright pink with a white center, yellow stamens and white reverse, aging to medium pink. The blooms have a mild fragrance, and arrive singly or in tight clusters. The leaves are small, semi-glossy, medium-green and very healthy. "Carefree Wonder' is a profuse bloomer, blooming in flushes from spring to winter. ''Rosa'' 'Bonica 82, (aka MEIdomonac), is a shrub rose cultivar, bred by Marie-Louise Meilland in France in 1982. The cultivar was named an All-America Rose Selections winner in 1987. Description 'Bonica 82' is a medium bushy shrub, 3 to 5 ft (90—150 cm) in height with a 4—6 ft (121—182 cm) spread. Blooms have an average diameter of 2—3 in (5—7.5 cm) with a petal count of 26 to 40. The plant is excellent for use in the garden, in containers, cut flower, hedge or landscape. Buds are a rich, dark pink color. Flowers are bright, pale pink when they first open, and later fade to near white in warmer climates. Marie-Louise ("Louisette") Paolino Meilland (1920–1987) was a French rose breeder and co-owner of Meilland International SA, Meilland International in France. She was married to renowned rose breeder, Francis Meilland, who bred the world famous Rosa 'Peace', 'Peace' rose in the 1930s. After her husband died in 1958, she took over the family business and continued to breed roses. During her long career, Louisette Meilland bred over 120 rose varieties, and received multiple awards for her work. Francis Meilland (February 20, 1912— June 15, 1958) was a French rose breeder and co-founder of Meilland International, a family-owned rose growing company in southern France.
