Black Dresses are a Canadian noise pop duo consisting of Ada Rook and Devi McCallion. Their debut album, '' Wasteisolation'', was released independently in 2018. The duo released three additional albums, ''Thank You'' (2019), ''Love and Affection for Stupid Little Bitches'' (2019), and '' Peaceful as Hell'' (2020), before breaking up in 2020. Despite no longer being a band, Black Dresses has released two additional albums, '' Forever in Your Heart'' (2021) and '' Forget Your Own Face'' (2022). Alan Rook
(William) Alan Rook OBE (1909 – 1990) was a British Cairo poet and edited the 1936 issue of ''New Oxford Poetry''. As a soldier In the Second World War Rook served as a Lieutenant anti-aircraft gunner with the 6th A.A. Division of the Royal Artillery. After evacuation at Dunkirk he served in searchlight operations with an anti-aircraft unit, defending the East End of London during the Blitz. He rose to the rank of Major. He left a vivid diary of the Blitz experience. He left the Army in 1944, invalided out. He continued an interest in targeting and weapons after the war, becoming a keen archer. As a poet His first book of poems was published in 1938, and three further books during the war. During the war, and in the decade after 1945, he was best known in Britain as a war poet. Jean Kathleen Rook (13 November 1931 – 5 September 1991) was an English journalist dubbed ''The First Lady of Fleet Street'' for her regular opinion column in the ''Daily Express''. She was also, along with Lynda Lee-Potter, a model for the Glenda Slagg column in the satirical magazine ''Private Eye''. Rook was the highest-paid woman on Fleet Street, London, then the centre of the British newspaper industry. Jerry Rook
Jerry G. Rook (October 27, 1943 – August 25, 2019) was an American basketball player, best known for his success at Arkansas State University. He played one season for the New Orleans Buccaneers in the American Basketball Association (ABA). High school Rook was born and raised in rural Arkansas. He attended Nettleton High School in Jonesboro. The school system was so small that all elementary, junior high and high school students shared the same three-story school building. As a basketball player for Nettleton, Rook was voted All-Conference and All-District three times (1959–61). He was twice named All-State (1960, 1961) and, his senior season of 1960–61, ''Scholastic Magazine'' named him an All-American. Susan Rook (born ) is a journalist best known for her years as a CNN anchor and original Host of CNN's Talkback Live.
