Ronny Maza
Ronny Jesús Maza Miranda (born 11 May 1997) is a Venezuelan professional footballer who plays as a forward for Canadian club Valour FC. Early life Maza was born in the city of Maracaibo in Venezuela's Zulia state. Club career Zulia Maza began his career with Venezuelan Primera División side Zulia, and made his professional debut in 2016 while on loan with Portuguesa. During his loan, he made a total of ten appearances in league play, scoring one goal, and also scored a goal in the Copa Venezuela. Maza made his debut for Zulia the following season in a 2–2 draw against Deportivo Lara. On 28 April 2017, he made his continental debut in the Copa Libertadores in a 1–1 draw against Argentine side Lanús. That season, he scored three goals in twelve league appearances and made another two appearances in the Copa Venezuela. 2021 Valour FC Season
The 2021 Valour FC season was the third season in the club's history, as well as the third season in Canadian Premier League history. Overview Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 Canadian Premier League season began in a bubble in Winnipeg, giving Valour FC home field advantage for the first 8 games of the season. During this time Valour started off strong, reaching the top of the table. Crucial to Valour's success in this stretch was the play of Haitian defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste. Loanee goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois also had a league record-breaking start to the season. However, after playing seven games Jean-Baptiste suffered a season-ending injury. After Jean-Baptiste was injured and the league left the bubble, Valour's season took a sharp downard turn, winning only one match in 10 games. The 2020 Primera División season, officially Liga de Fútbol Profesional Venezolano or ''Liga FUTVE'', was the 39th professional season of the Venezuelan Primera División, Venezuela's top-flight football league. Caracas were the defending champions. The competition was suspended on 12 March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with all the results recorded until then voided on 15 May, and was reset starting from 14 October with a new format, ending on 15 December 2020. Deportivo La Guaira won their first league title, beating Deportivo Táchira by a score of 2–0 in the final played at Valencia. Format changes Original format The league format changed for the 2020 season. No Apertura and Clausura tournaments would be held and the 20 teams would face each other in a home-and-away round-robin tournament, for a total of 38 matches per team.
