Ronnie Byrne

Byrne returned to Hobart where he was an apprentice electrician and commenced his football career with his local football club, Lefroy, playing as a clever centreman and half back flanker. Lefroy Football Club
Lefroy Football Club were an Australian rules football club which competed in the Tasmanian Football League (TFL/TANFL). They were known as ''The Blues'' and played their home games at North Hobart Oval as well as the Tasmanian Cricket Association Ground. Lefroy players wore dark and light blue as their club colours. The club was formed at a meeting called by Mr Oscar H. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football.
