Rongsen Jonathan
Rongsen Jonathan (born 4 October 1986) is an Indian cricketer who captains Nagaland cricket team, Nagaland in domestic cricket. He is an all-rounder; a right-handed Batting order (cricket), middle order batter and right-arm medium pacer. Early life and background Jonathan was born on 4 October 1986. A native of Akhoya village in Mokokchung district of Nagaland, he started playing cricket from a young age with limited cricketing facilities in his home state. His family moved to Bengaluru in 1997 when Jonathan was 12. He joined St Joseph's Boys' High School, Bangalore where he was a teammate with Robin Uthappa and played tournaments like Cottonian Shield and Parle G Cup are part of the school's cricket team. He won the best batsman award in the Cottonian Shield which paved the way for his selection in the Karnataka cricket team, Karnataka U-16 cricket team. Manipur Cricket Team
The Manipur cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Manipur in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ahead of the 2018–19 season, Shiv Sunder Das was appointed as the team's coach. In September 2018, they lost their opening fixture of the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, to Puducherry, by 8 wickets. The following day, they won their first fixture of the tournament, beating Sikkim by 10 wickets. The 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy was the 18th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A cricket tournament in India. It took place in September and October 2019, after the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy, Duleep Trophy and before the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy, Ranji Trophy. 2018–19 Ranji Trophy
The 2018–19 Ranji Trophy was the 85th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between November 2018 and February 2019. Vidarbha were the defending champions. The final took place between Vidarbha and Saurashtra, starting on 3 February 2019. Vidarbha defeated Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final, to become the sixth team in the tournament's history to retain their title. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. A significant omission of the ICC ruling was any attempt to define first-class cricket retrospectively.
