Ronald G. Richard
Major General Ronald G. Richard (born October 19, 1946) is a retired United States Marine Corps officer who last served as the Commanding General of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Biography Richard was born and raised in Basile, Louisiana. In 1968, he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) with a Bachelor's degree in History. Marine Corps career Richard completed his training at The Basic School in February 1969. He was transferred to the Republic of Vietnam and was assigned to Battery I, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines as a forward observer for 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines. Returning to Okinawa with the 3rd Marine Division, he served as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, 3rd Marine Division. Basile, Louisiana
Basile is a town in Acadia and Evangeline parishes in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 1,214 in 2020. The Acadia Parish portion of Basile is part of the Crowley Micropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Basile is located at (30.485148, -92.600589). Most of the city limits are located in Evangeline Parish with a small southern portion of the town being in Acadia Parish. U.S. Highway 190 passes through the town with the towns of Elton (7 miles) and Kinder (16 miles) both being located to the west of the town, and Eunice located east. The Basic School
The Basic School (TBS) is where all newly commissioned and appointed (for warrant officers) United States Marine Corps officers are taught the basics of being an "Officer of Marines". The Basic School is located at Camp Barrett, Quantico, Virginia, in the south-west of the Marine Corps Base Quantico complex. The 27th Marine Regiment (27th Marines) is an inactivated infantry regiment of the United States Marine Corps. They fought during the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II and again for a short time during the Vietnam War. Twentynine Palms (also known as 29 Palms) is a city in San Bernardino County, California. Twentynine Palms serves as one of the entry points to Joshua Tree National Park. History Twentynine Palms was named for the palm trees found there in 1852 by Col. Henry Washington while surveying the San Bernardino base line. A post office was established in 1927. The 11th Marine Regiment is an artillery regiment of the United States Marine Corps based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Known as the "Cannon Cockers", the regiment falls under the command of the 1st Marine Division and the I Marine Expeditionary Force. 3rd Marine Division (United States)
The 3rd Marine Division is a division (military), division of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Courtney, Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler in Okinawa Prefecture, Okinawa, Japan.
