Ron Streck
Ronald Raymond Streck (born July 17, 1954) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour, and is a current player on the Champions Tour. Career Streck was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father started him playing golf at age 3. He attended the University of Tulsa from 1973 to 1976, and was twice an All-American. He turned pro in 1976. Streck had several notable "firsts" in the annals of professional golf, earning him the nickname "Milestone Man". He was the first PGA player to play with Metalwoods. He was the first PGA player to win with Metalwoods (at the 1981 Michelob-Houston Open). With his victory in 2005 at the Commerce Bank Championship, he became the first player to win events on all three U.S.-based men's professional Tours (PGA, Nationwide, and Champions). Hale S. Irwin (born June 3, 1945) is an American professional golfer. He was one of the world's leading golfers from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. He is one of the few players in history to win three U.S. Opens, becoming the oldest ever U.S. Open champion in 1990 at the age of 45. As a senior golfer, Irwin ranks first all-time in PGA Tour Champions victories. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Champions Tour history. The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. The Masters was started by amateur champion Bobby Jones and investment banker Clifford Roberts. Jim Ahern (golfer)
James Russell Ahern (born February 26, 1949) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Ahern was born in Duluth, Minnesota. He attended Oklahoma State University and turned professional in 1972. He toiled in relative obscurity on the PGA Tour in the 1970s, never finishing higher than ninth in 60 tournaments. He lost his card at the end of the 1975 season. Ahern became the head pro at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club in 1980 and five years later founded Executive Golf Ltd., a golf concierge firm that arranges weekend golf instruction retreats for high-end and Fortune 500 clients. Ahern joined the Senior PGA Tour after turning 50 in February 1999 and has two wins on this circuit. The 2005 Champions Tour was the 26th season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 28 official money events with purses totalling $51,200,000, including five majors. Hale Irwin won the most tournaments, four. The Chrysler Team Championship was an unofficial event on the PGA Tour from 1983 to 1990. It used a two-man better-ball format. It was played at Boca West Resort and Club and Broken Sound Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida from 1983 to 1986; at Palm Beach Polo Club, Wellington Club and Greenview Cove Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida from 1987 to 1988; at Palm Beach Polo Club (Cypress and Dunes courses) and Wellington Club in 1989; and at Binks Forest Country Club and Wellington Club in Wellington, Florida in 1990. Hassan II Golf Trophy
The Hassan II Golf Trophy is a golf tournament in Morocco hosted by Prince Moulay Rachid. The tournament was founded by, and is now named for, his father, Hassan II, who served as King of Morocco. The tournament was originally staged as an invitational pro-am and attended by only a handful of top professionals. The winner receives a gold dagger inlaid with jewels. It has been held at the Robert Trent Jones designed Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat every year except for 2011 through 2015, when it moved to Golf du Palais Royal in Agadir. The tournament has been played since 1971, but did not take place from 1986 to 1990, 2004, and 2009. It has been a European Tour event since 2010.
