Ron Schultz
Ron Schultz is a Homosassa, Florida Republican (United States) politician who serves as the District 43 Representative in the House of Representatives of the U.S. state of Florida. He was first elected to the Florida House on June 26, 2007, in a special election and was re-elected in 2008. Schultz was born on December 20, 1938, in New York City, New York. He came to Florida in 1945. He attended Shimer College from 1955 to 1958. In 1965, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of South Florida and received a Master of Arts degree from the university in 1967. In 1976, he was appointed by Reubin Askew to serve as Pinellas County Property Appraiser, and served till 1998. Two years later, Bob Martinez appointed him Citrus County Property Appraiser, a position he held till 2005. In 1993, he became a Homosassa Special Water District Commissioner. Bob Martinez
Robert Martinez (born December 25, 1934) is an American retired politician who served as the 40th governor of Florida from 1987 to 1991. A member of the Republican Party, Martinez was the first person of Spanish descent to be elected governor of Florida. Martinez was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, attended the University of Tampa, and began his career as an educator in the local public school system and then the University of Tampa. In 1965, he was named the director of the local teachers' union, a position he held during the Florida statewide teachers' strike of 1968. He first entered politics with an unsuccessful run for mayor of Tampa in 1974, then won the office in Tampa's next mayoral election in 1979 and was reelected in 1983. Citrus County is a county located on the west central coast of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, the population was 153,843. Its county seat is Inverness, and its largest community is Homosassa Springs. Citrus County comprises the Homosassa Springs, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The area covered by present-day Citrus County is thought to have been first occupied at least 10,000 years ago. About 2,500 years ago, mound-building Native Americans settled in the area and built the complex that now forms the Crystal River Archeological Site. The site was occupied for about 2,000 years.
