Ron Moeser
Ronald Moeser (October 15, 1942 – April 18, 2017) was a Canadian politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a city councillor for Ward 44 in Scarborough from 1988 to 1997 and then a councillor for the amalgamated city of Toronto from 1998 to 2003 and then 2006 until his death in 2017. Moeser was born in Germany and moved to Canada after the end of World War II, becoming a citizen by the mid-1950s. He moved to West Rouge area of Scarborough in 1981. He was a longtime marathon runner in his youth. Moeser was elected to what was then the Scarborough City Council in 1988 representing the West Rouge community. He sat on Scarborough City Council for nine years and chaired the Waterfront committee. Moeser and his wife Heather played an active role in the preservation of the Rouge Valley. Toronto City Council is the governing body of the municipal government of Toronto, Ontario. Meeting at Toronto City Hall, it comprises 25 city councillors and the mayor of Toronto. The current term began on November 15, 2022. Structure The current decision-making framework and committee structure at the City of Toronto was established by the '' City of Toronto Act, 2006'' and came into force January 1, 2007. The decision-making process at the City of Toronto involves committees that report to City Council. Committees propose, review and debate policies and recommendations before their arrival at City Council for debate. The 2010 Toronto municipal election was held on October 25, 2010 to elect a mayor and 44 city councillors in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In addition, school trustees were elected to the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest and Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud. Jennifer McKelvie
Jennifer McKelvie ( ) is a Canadian politician who has been the deputy mayor of Toronto since November 16, 2022. McKelvie has also represented Ward 25 Scarborough—Rouge Park on Toronto City Council since 2018. McKelvie was one of only two candidates to unseat an incumbent in the 2018 municipal election, a rare feat in Toronto politics. In the 2014 Toronto municipal election, she was a candidate in the now defunct Ward 44, and came within less than 600 votes of defeating then long-time incumbent Ron Moeser. Enhancing public transit, protecting the environment and creating employment opportunities in Scarborough, were her key electoral priorities. CP24 is a Canadian English-language specialty news channel owned by Bell Media, a subsidiary of BCE Inc. and operated alongside the Bell-owned CTV Television Network's owned-and-operated television stations CFTO-DT (CTV Toronto) and CKVR-DT (CTV 2 Barrie). The channel broadcasts from 299 Queen Street West in Downtown Toronto. It was first originally launched on March 30, 1998, under the name CablePulse24 by its owners CHUM Limited and Sun Media.
