Ron Kennedy Trophy
The Ron Kennedy Trophy is awarded to the "player judged most valuable to his team" in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). The trophy has been known as the ''Ron Kennedy Trophy'' since the 2009–10 Austrian Hockey League season. The trophy is named after Ron Kennedy, who died at 9 July 2009 from cancer. Kennedy played in the Austrian League in the 80's, and was head coach of the Austrian National Team and several teams in the Austrian League. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. EC Red Bull Salzburg is a professional ice hockey team based in Salzburg, Austria, that currently plays in the ICE Hockey League. The club play their home games at the Eisarena Salzburg. 2017–18 Austrian Hockey League Season
The 2017–18 Austrian Hockey League season began on 8 September 2017 and ended on 20 April 2018. The defending champion were the Vienna Capitals. On 20 April 2018, HC Bolzano won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 2nd time in their history. With Slovenian club, HDD Olimpija Ljubljana ending their tenure in the EBEL having been dissolved due to financial debt. Riley Holzapfel
Riley Holzapfel (born August 18, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, currently contracted by the Vienna Capitals in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). Playing career Holzapfel played major junior hockey for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, chosen 43rd overall. On September 6, 2007, Riley signed a three-year entry level contract with the Thrashers. In 2008, he played for Canada in the IIHF World U20 Championship where Canada went on to win gold in a 3-2 victory over Sweden. On February 13, 2012, Holzapfel was traded by the Winnipeg Jets to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Maxime Macenauer. He was then immediately assigned to Ducks AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. 2016-17 Austrian Hockey League Season
16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there where hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller, Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . They played a similar mix of rough noise, heavily amplified instruments and free jazz inspired improvisation. 1983 to 1994 the group did a lot of tours and played many gigs all over Europe, Japan and USA. Orli Znojmo
Orli Znojmo (in English Znojmo Eagles) is a Czech-based ice hockey team that currently plays in the 2nd Czech Republic Hockey League. The club Orli Znojmo is based in Znojmo and their home arena is Nevoga Arena. From 1999 to 2009, the club competed in the Czech Extraliga. Their biggest success in that league was a third-place finish in 2005–06. Colton Yellow Horn (born May 5, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for Coventry Blaze in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Yellow Horn most recently played for fellow Elite League side Glasgow Clan. Playing career Yellow Horn played major junior beginning in 2003–04 in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Tri-City Americans. Brian Lebler (born July 16, 1988) is an Austrian professional ice hockey right winger, who currently playing for the Steinbach Black Wings Linz of the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). Playing career Lebler began his professional career during the 2010–11 season after playing four years of Division I college hockey with the Michigan Wolverines. He split his first season with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League and the ECHL's Elmira Jackals. EC Grand Immo VSV are an ice hockey team in the ICE Hockey League. They play their home games at Stadthalle (capacity approximately 4500 spectators) in Villach, Austria. Derek Allen Ryan (born December 29, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). An undrafted player, Ryan played four successful seasons of Canadian university hockey and pursued a professional career in Europe before making his NHL debut at age 29. After being named the MVP of the Swedish Hockey League in 2015, Ryan signed his first NHL contract with the Carolina Hurricanes in June of that year.
