Ron Hopkins
Ronald Lee Hopkins (born November 10, 1960) is a former American football defensive back who played nine seasons with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He played college football at Murray State University. College career Hopkins played for the Murray State Racers from 1979 to 1982. He earned All- OVC honors his senior season in 1982. He was inducted into the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. A return specialist or kick returner is a player on the special teams unit of a gridiron football team who specializes in returning punts and kickoffs. There are few players who are exclusively return specialists; most also play another position such as wide receiver, defensive back, or running back. The special teams counterpart of a return specialist is a kicking specialist. According to All-American Venric Mark, "Returning punts is harder. The Murray State Racers football team represents Murray State University in the sport of American football. The Racers competes in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I and the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
