Ron Francis (football Player)
Ronald Bernard Francis (born April 7, 1964, in La Marque, Texas) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Baylor University. Early years Francis was one of the best state running backs at La Marque High School as a senior, receiving All-district honors. He played as a quarterback, wingback and safety in the previous years. He also practiced track & field, track. He accepted a football scholarship from Baylor University. As a freshman, he was moved from running back to cornerback, starting 4 games while making 23 tackles and 6 passes defensed. In 1983, he was declared academically ineligible. In 1984 as a sophomore, he was moved back to Halfback (American football), tailback and named the starter. La Marque, Texas
La Marque ( ) is a city in Galveston County, Texas, south of Houston. The city population in 2020 was 18,030. It is a part of the Houston- The Woodlands- Sugar Land metropolitan area. A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone. The 1989 NFL season was the 70th regular season of the National Football League. Before the season, NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle announced his retirement. Paul Tagliabue was eventually chosen to succeed him, taking over on November 5. Robert Cole Williams (born October 2, 1962) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs. He played college football at Baylor University. Early years Williams attended Ball High School, where he played at running back. He was also a long jumper, ran on all relay teams, and was a standout hurdler. He won the district high hurdles title as a senior. Ronald Lee Fellows (born November 7, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Raiders. He played college football at the University of Missouri. Early years Fellows attended Washington High School, where he lettered in football, track and basketball. In football, he was a two-way player, as a running back and safety. He helped his team win the Northern Indiana Conference championship in 1975 and 1976. As a senior, he received South Bend Tribune Offensive Player of the Year and All-State offensive/defensive back honors. He was named All-Conference in track and basketball. In 1977, he won the IHSAA 120 yards high hurdles state championship. In 2014, he was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. All-America
The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention.
