Ron Casey (Sydney Broadcaster)
Ronald Arthur Casey (5 July 1929 – 2 October 2018) was an Australian television presenter, sports journalist and talk-back radio host based in Sydney, New South Wales. Early life Casey was born in Lismore, New South Wales on 5 July 1929, but moved to Sydney with his mother, Nellie Thorne, and brother, John Francis Casey, and settled at Coogee, New South Wales, when he was 10. In 1944, Casey was a New South Wales state swimming champion, and he went on to work for thirteen years as a professional swimming coach at North Sydney Olympic Pool after covering the swimming events at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics as a freelance journalist. Media career Casey's career began at radio station 2KY in 1948. He became well known in the early years of television as a sports presenter on ''World of Sport'' (with Frank Hyde) at TCN-9 (Nine Network), and later as the sports newsreader at Channel TEN-10. Lismore is a city in northeastern New South Wales, Australia and the main population centre in the City of Lismore Local government in Australia, local government area; it is also a regional centre in the Northern Rivers region of the State. Sky Sports Radio (formerly 2KY) is a commercial radio station based in Sydney, broadcasting throughout New South Wales and Canberra on a network of over 140 narrowcast transmitters as well as the main 1017 AM frequency in Sydney. Marcus Einfeld
Marcus Richard Einfeld (born 22 September 1938) is a former Australian judge who served on the Federal Court of Australia and was the inaugural president of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission. In retirement, he served two years in prison after being convicted of perjury and perverting the course of justice. Einfeld studied law at the University of Sydney. His father Syd Einfeld was a federal MP. He was called to the bar in 1962, and appointed Queen's Counsel (QC) in 1977. From 1972 to 1976, Einfeld was a director of the World Jewish Congress, based in London. After returning to Australia he became one of Sydney's most prominent barristers. David John Cawdell Irving (born 24 March 1938) is an English author and Holocaust denier who has written on the military and political history of World War II, with a focus on Nazi Germany. Norman John Rowe (born 1 February 1947) is an Australian singer and songwriter of pop music and an actor of theatre and soap opera for which he remains best known as Douglas Fletcher in 1980s serial '' Sons and Daughters''. Republicanism in Australia is a popular movement to change Australia's system of government from a constitutional parliamentary monarchy to a republic, replacing the monarch of Australia (currently Charles III) with a president. Republicanism was first espoused in Australia before Federation in 1901.
