The Romanian Basketball Federation (FRB) ( ro, Federatia Română de Baschet) is the governing body of basketball in Romania. It was founded in 1931, and they became members of FIBA in 1932 as co-founders. The Romanian Basketball Federation operates the Romanian men's national team and Romanian women's national team. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.
