Romania Coach Of The Year
The Romania Coach of the Year ( ro, Antrenorul anului în România) is an annual association football award given by the '' Gazeta Sporturilor'' newspaper to the head coach in Romania adjudged to have been the best during a calendar year. Mircea Lucescu and Dan Petrescu hold the record for the most wins with five each. The award was created in 2004, with both Romanian coaches operating inside the country and abroad being eligible for the award, as well as foreign coaches in Romania. The only winner in the latter category is Ukrainian manager Oleh Protasov, who received the trophy for his performances with FC Steaua București in 2005. Other annual honours handed out by ''Gazeta Sporturilor'' include the Romanian Footballer of the Year and the Foreign Player of the Year in Romania awards. Mircea Lucescu
Mircea Lucescu (; born 29 July 1945) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently head coach of Ukrainian Premier League club Dynamo Kyiv. He is one of the most decorated managers of all time. Lucescu is also one of the most successful players of the Romanian league championship, having won all of his seven titles with Dinamo București. Apart from the latter club, he had spells at Știința București and Corvinul Hunedoara, and made 70 appearances for the Romania national team, which he captained in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Lucescu has coached various sides in Romania, Italy, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. He is well known for his twelve-year stint in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk, where he became the most successful coach in the team's history by winning eight Ukrainian Premier League titles, six Ukrainian Cups, seven Ukrainian Super Cups and the 2008–09 UEFA Cup. Laurențiu Aurelian Reghecampf (born 19 September 1975) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently in charge of Azerbaijan Premier League side Neftchi Baku. Playing career Club Reghecampf was born in Târgoviște and began his career in his native city with Chindia. In the 1993–94 season, at the age of 18, Reghecampf was loaned to Austrian Bundesliga side SKN St. Pölten. He later joined Steaua București where he won the league title twice. One year later, Reghecampf was loaned to Bulgarian side Litex Lovech, with whom he won the 1999 A PFG title. In 2000, he was bought by German Bundesliga team Energie Cottbus. The ''Gazeta Sporturilor'' Monthly Football Awards are association football awards presented monthly by Romania's largest and most read sports-related publication, ''Gazeta Sporturilor''. They were first awarded in September 2021, and they honour players and managers deemed to have been the best over the previous month in Romania. Răzvan Lucescu (; born 17 February 1969) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is the current manager of Greek Super League club PAOK. As a player, he operated as a goalkeeper and spent most years of his career at Sportul Studențesc during three stints. Lucescu also represented Național București, Brașov, Rapid București and FCM Bacău in his country, as well as Crema Calcio abroad. He won his only national title with Rapid in the 2002–03 campaign.
