Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo
Philip Anyolo (born May 18, 1956, in Tongaren, Bungoma) is a Kenyan Roman Catholic Bishop who serves as Archbishop of Nairobi. He was ordained priest for the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret, Kenya, on October 15, 1983. Pope John Paul II appointed Philip Anyolo as Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kericho on December 6, 1995. He was consecrated as bishop in Kericho on February 3, 1996. Anyolo served as the Ordinary of the Catholic Diocese of Kericho, Kenya, until March 22, 2003. On February 20, 2002, Msgr. Philip was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay, upon the resignation of Rt. Rev. Linus Okok Okwach. Makueni County
Makueni County (formerly Makueni District) is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Wote. The county has a population of 987,653 (2019 census). The county lies between Latitude 1° 35' and 2° 59' South and Longitude 37° 10' and 38° 30' East. It borders Machakos to the North, Kitui to the East, Taita Taveta to the South and Kajiado to the West and covers an area of 8,008.9 km2. The Roman Rite ( la, Ritus Romanus) is the primary liturgical rite of the Latin Church, the largest of the ''sui iuris'' particular churches that comprise the Catholic Church. Wote is a town in Kenya. It is the capital of Makueni County in the former Eastern Province. It forms a town council with a population of 56,419, of whom 5,542 are classified urban (1999 census). Paul Kariuki Njiru (born March 11, 1963) is the Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Wote Diocese in Kenya. Seminary formation and studies Paul Kariuki Njiru was born in Kyeni, Embu. After schooling, he studied at St. Joseph's seminary and then St. Thomas Aquinas seminary in Nairobi. In 1991 the Pontifical Urban University awarded him a bachelor's degree for his studies while in Kenya. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Embu on March 1, 1993. As a parish priest, he worked in Kairuri parish and served as diocesan youth chaplain. He was the education secretary for Catholic schools in Embu Diocese. Having studied for six years in Rome, he was then awarded an S.T.L. (1999) and an S.T.D. (2002) in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is the state-run media organisation of Kenya. It broadcasts in English and Swahili, as well as in most local languages of Kenya. The corporation started its life in 1928 when Kenya was a British colony. It was the first station in Kenya. In 1964, when Kenya became an independent country, the corporation's name was changed to Voice of Kenya. In 1989, the Kenyan parliament reverted the corporation's name from Voice of Kenya to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.
