Roman Catholic Archdiocese Of Madang
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madang is a Metropolitan Archdiocese in Papua New Guinea with suffragan dioceses of Aitape, Lae, Vanimo and Wewak. The Archdiocese was created in 1966 when it was elevated from a predecessor see. The Metropolitan Archbishop of Madang, appointed by Pope Francis on 26 July 2019, is the former Bishop of Kundiawa, Papua New Guinea, Anton Bal. He succeeded Archbishop Stephen Joseph Reichert, O.F.M. Cap., whose resignation was accepted after he reached the age limit. Raymond Kalisz
Raymond Philip Kalisz (27 September 1927 – 12 December 2010) was the Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Wewak, Papua New Guinea. Born in Melvindale, Michigan, United States, Kalisz was ordained a priest on 15 August 1954 for the Society of the Divine Word. On 24 April 1980, Kalisz was appointed bishop of the Wewak Diocese and was ordained on 15 August 1980. Bishop Kalisz retired on 14 August 2002. He died on Sunday 12 December 2010, in Evanston, Illinois, at the age of 83. Michael Marai
Michael Marai (1948 – November 3, 2021) was a Papua New Guinean Roman Catholic prelate and bishop emeritus of Goroka. He served as the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Goroka from 1988 until in 1994. Marai was born in 1948 on Mushu Island, Territory of Papua and New Guinea, in present-day East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea. He was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on December 6, 1976. He was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Goroka on October 25, 1988. Marai served as the bishop until he stepped down on November 15, 1994. Cherubim Alfred Dambui, (23 February 1948 – 24 June 2010) was a Politics of Papua New Guinea, Papua New Guinea politician and Roman Catholic bishop.
