The Diocese of Mananjary is a Roman Catholic Diocese under the Archdiocese of Fianarantsoa in Madagascar. It is based in the town of Mananjary and was erected on 9 April 1968. It performs the Latin Rite. The Diocese covers approximately 14,270 km (5,511 sq. miles). As of 2004, the diocese population was about 700,000, with 14.8% Catholic. 35 priests were in the Diocese for a ratio of 2,962 Catholics for every 1 Priest. Mananjary is a city located in Vatovavy, Madagascar with a population of 25,222 inhabitants in 2018. It is the chief city of the Mananjary district. It contains a town of the same name, situated on the southern part of the east coast, where the Mananjary River flows into the Indian Ocean. There's a small port and an airport. Latin liturgical rites, or Western liturgical rites, are Catholic rites of public worship employed by the Latin Church, the largest particular church ''sui iuris'' of the Catholic Church, that originated in Europe where the Latin language once dominated.
