Rolling Valley Conference
The Rolling Valley Conference is a high school athletic conference in west central Iowa. The league began play in the 2013–14 season. Members include five former members of the Western Valley Activities Conference, five former members of the Rolling Hills Conference, and one former member of the West Central Activities Conference. Schools Former schools History Five members of the conference came from the Western Valley Activities Conference, which was formed in 2008 by the merger of the Maple Valley Conference and the Boyer Valley Conference. All five members of the Rolling Valley were members of the Boyer Valley Conference before the merger. The Boyer Valley league dated to the 1960s and included as many as twelve schools at one time in its history. With the number of members dwindling, they looked into a merger with the Maple Valley Conference. The league was an odd mix of schools, however, as the conference spanned over 160 miles. Iowa High School Athletic Association
The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Its female counterpart, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, (IGHSAU) is an associate member. Iowa is the only state that maintains separate governing bodies for boys' and girls' athletics. Sports overseen by the IHSAA are baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and wrestling. Des Moines

Boyer Valley Conference
The Boyer Valley Conference was a high school athletic conference in west central Iowa. It merged with the Maple Valley Conference for the 2008 season to form the Western Valley Activities Conference. Former members History The Boyer Valley Conference had been formed around 1960 and had many schools consolidate over the years. For much of its history, the Boyer Valley Conference consisted of members in West Harrison in Mondamin, Woodbine, Dunlap, Schleswig, Charter Oak, Dow City, Irwin, Logan, Ar-We-Va in Westside, and East Monona in Moorhead. In 1977, Manilla won the 1A State Football Championship. In the early 1980s, Manilla joined the league, followed by Manning a few years later. This put the league at 12 schools in the late 1980s. Schleswig won the Class A State Football Championship in 1984 and 1988. By 1990, Dunlap was sharing sports with Dow City-Arion and Irwin-Kirkman was sharing with Manilla. Maple Valley Conference
The Maple Valley Conference was a high school sports league in western Iowa. Most of its members are classified as 1A, the smallest grouping of schools in Iowa. However, a few of the schools compete in the next-largest class, 2A. The conference was formed in and existed for 77 years before merging with the Boyer Valley Conference in . Schools History The Maple Valley Conference traces its history to 1931 when the conference was founded with Onawa, Mapleton, Moville, Correctionville, Holstein, and Odebolt high schools. Kingsley joined the conference in 1944 and over time, the conference grew to 12 members so that by 2008 the conference included Odebolt-Arthur, Battle Creek-Ida Grove, Galva-Holstein, Woodbury Central, Kingsley-Pierson, Remsen-Union, Lawton-Bronson, Westwood, River Valley, Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto, West Monona, and Whiting. Charter Oak, Iowa
Charter Oak is a city in Crawford County, Iowa, United States, along the East Soldier River. The population was 535 at the 2020 census. History Charter Oak was first mentioned in newspapers August 13, 1869. The town Post Office was established May 4, 1876. The Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway was completed in February 1887, bringing the train through town twice daily as it hauled postage and freight from Manilla to Sioux City. Articles of Incorporation were filed for the town of Charter Oak February 14, 1891. Charter Oak was a busy community with many businesses to employ community members. The first school was built in 1889, as the community grew the school became too small. The current school building was built in 1916. In 1929 the first street was paved. Guthrie Center Community School District
Guthrie Center Community School District is a rural, public school district headquartered in Guthrie Center, Iowa. The district is almost entirely in Guthrie County, with a small portion in Audubon County, and serves the city of Guthrie Center and the surrounding rural areas. It has entered into a "grade-sharing" relationship with Adair–Casey Community School District in which the latter sends its high school students to the Guthrie Center school. Adair, Iowa
Adair is a city in Adair and Guthrie counties of Iowa in the United States. The population was 791 at the 2020 census. History The Rock Island Railroad was built through the area in 1868, which led to the area being known as Summit Cut. This was in reference to the ridge that forms the watershed divide between the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. The town officially became known as Adair on August 20, 1872, when it was incorporated with the county. The town is named after General John Adair, a general in the War of 1812 who later became the eighth governor of Kentucky. Adair was the scene of the first successful train robbery in the American West when on July 21, 1873, the James-Younger Gang (led by Jesse James) took US $3,000 from the Rock Island Express after derailing it southwest of the town.
