Rolf Hind
Rolf Hind (born 1964 in London) is a British pianist and composer. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Biography Rolf Hind was born in London to a German mother and an English father. He studied piano with Kendall Taylor, John Barstow, John Constable, Johanna Harris and composition with Edwin Roxburgh and Jeremy Dale Roberts. He teaches at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (piano, composition, Research associate) and at the Royal Academy of Music as well as Brunel University, Dartington Summer School and in conservatories throughout Europe and Asia. His tours have taken him from Carnegie Hall to The Proms and he has played at many major festivals and stages internationally. A specialist in 20th and 21st century repertoire, Rolf Hind has worked with many composers, and been dedicatee of new works. George Benjamin (composer)
Sir George William John Benjamin, CBE (born 31 January 1960) is an English composer of contemporary classical music. He is also a conductor, pianist and teacher. He is well known for operas '' Into the Little Hill'' (2006), '' Written on Skin'' (2009–2012) and '' Lessons in Love and Violence'' (2015–2017)—all with librettos by Martin Crimp. South West German Radio Orchestra
The Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra (also known in English as the SWR Baden-Baden Freiburg Symphony Orchestra and in German as the Sinfonieorchester des Südwestrundfunks) was a German radio orchestra located in the German cities of Baden-Baden and Freiburg. History The first incarnation of the orchestra occurred in 1946, initially with members of the discontinued spa orchestra of the city as the core of players. The revival of the spa orchestra two years later forced the reorganization of the radio orchestra. Subsequently, Hans Rosbaud was hired as the orchestra's first chief conductor. Rosbaud was already well known as a champion of modern music, and Heinrich Strobel, the music director in charge of the orchestra, shared this sympathy with contemporary music. Chamber Orchestra Of Europe
The Chamber Orchestra of Europe (COE), established in 1981, is an orchestra based in London. The orchestra comprises about 60 members from across Europe. The players pursue parallel careers as international soloists, members of chamber groups and as tutors and teachers of music. The orchestra receives substantial support from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and the Underwood Trust; they have no single home resident hall and no appointed resident conductor. The orchestra is a registered charity under English law. Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Danish: ''DR Symfoniorkestret''; English abbreviation "DNSO"), is a Danish orchestra based in Copenhagen. The DNSO is the principal orchestra of DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation). The DRSO is based at the Koncerthuset (lit. translation in english, ''The Concert House'') concert hall in Copenhagen. Rebecca Saunders (born 19 December 1967) is a London-born composer who lives and works freelance in Berlin. Julius Eastman
Julius Eastman (October 27, 1940 – May 28, 1990) was an American composer, pianist, vocalist, and performance artist whose work is associated with musical minimalism. James MacMillan
Sir James Loy MacMillan, (born 16 July 1959) is a Scottish classical composer and conductor. Early life MacMillan was born at Kilwinning, in North Ayrshire, but lived in the East Ayrshire town of Cumnock until 1977. His father is James MacMillan and his mother is Ellen MacMillan (née Loy). He studied composition at the University of Edinburgh with Rita McAllister and Kenneth Leighton, and at Durham University with John Casken, where he gained an undergraduate degree and then a PhD degree in 1987. At Durham he was a member of the College of St Hild and St Bede as an undergraduate student and the Graduate Society while studying for his PhD. James Dillon (born 29 October 1950) is a Scottish composer who is often regarded as belonging to the New Complexity school. Dillon studied art and design, linguistics, piano, acoustics, Indian rhythm, mathematics and computer music, but is self-taught in composition. Dillon was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Honours include first prize in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 1978, the Kranichsteiner music prize at Darmstadt in 1982, and five Royal Philharmonic Society composition awards, most recently for his chamber piece ''Tanz/Haus: triptych 2017''.
