The Mali women's national basketball team is the nationally controlled basketball team representing Mali at world basketball competitions for women. The Malian squad had one continental championship, which came in 2007 with a win over host Senegal. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. The 2019 AfroBasket Women was held from 10 to 18 August 2019 in Dakar, Senegal. It was also the first step for the qualification for FIBA Africa for the women's basketball tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The 2021 AfroBasket Women was the 25th edition of the tournament and held from 18 to 26 September 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The top two teams qualified for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.
