Oomph!
Oomph! is a German rock band from Wolfsburg, formed in 1989. The band pioneered the Neue Deutsche Härte movement. Their work contains lyrics in both English and German, with a shift towards German exclusively on recent albums (''GlaubeLiebeTod'', ''Monster'', ''Des Wahnsinns fette Beute'', '' XXV'', and ''Ritual'' are entirely in German). History Early years (1989–2002) Oomph! incorporated many styles of music such as metal, industrial, alternative rock, electronica and gothic to create their sound. Their style changed between their self-titled debut, ''Oomph!'' (1992), and its successor ''Sperm'' (1994). Though they started with very much a dance-laden industrial sound, they quickly moved to a much more heavily guitar-driven metal sound, while still acknowledging their electronic roots. This guitar-driven and electronic accompanied sound inspired numerous musicians, most famously Rammstein, Megaherz, and Eisbrecher, to follow their lead. Oomph! was signed on Virgin Schallp ...

Brennende Liebe
"Brennende Liebe" (German for "Burning Desire") is a song by German rock band Oomph! and the second single from their 2004 album ''Wahrheit oder Pflicht'' (second edition). At first, the single was released as a B-side single like "Niemand" had been, but later the song appeared on the re-edition of ''Wahrheit oder Pflicht''. The song features Sonja Kraushofer from L'Âme Immortelle doing about half the lines. Music video The music video is based upon ''Bride of Frankenstein''. Dero is a mad scientist and Crap and Flux are his "medical" assistants, bringing monsters to life. They have already created a monster like Frankenstein's, and now they are working on a female, presumably to become Dero's bride instead of the male monster´s. In the video, the male monster works as an assistant, but when the monster picks the chosen brain for the female he accidentally dropped the brain, so he takes a different one; Dero gets suspicious but he and the rest of the band continue working. To D ...

7 (seven) is the natural number following 6 and preceding 8. It is the only prime number preceding a cube. As an early prime number in the series of positive integers, the number seven has greatly symbolic associations in religion, mythology, superstition and philosophy. The seven Classical planets resulted in seven being the number of days in a week. It is often considered lucky in Western culture and is often seen as highly symbolic. Unlike Western culture, in Vietnamese culture, the number seven is sometimes considered unlucky. It is the first natural number whose pronunciation contains more than one syllable. Evolution of the Arabic digit In the beginning, Indians wrote 7 more or less in one stroke as a curve that looks like an uppercase vertically inverted. The western Ghubar Arabs' main contribution was to make the longer line diagonal rather than straight, though they showed some tendencies to making the digit more rectilinear. The eastern Arabs developed the digit fr ...

Gott Ist Ein Popstar
"Gott ist ein Popstar" (German language, German for ''God is a popstar'') is the first single (music), single from Germany, German industrial metal group Oomph! from ''GlaubeLiebeTod''. Music and lyrics The song was written by Dero, Crap, and Flux, with Dero alone writing the lyrics. The song is in the key of F# minor at a tempo of 123 bpm. The verses of the song are an excerpt from the Lord's Prayer in German, followed by a bastardization in the second verse. For example, the second line "Geheilgt werde dein Name" (Hallowed be thy name), becomes "Geheiligt werde die Lüge" (Hallowed be the lie). The chorus of the song features repeated chants of "Gott ist ein Popstar!" followed by lines likening religion to a stage show. In order to rhyme better, two of the chorus lines were rewritten for the English version "God is a Popstar" on the ''Truth or Dare'' album, rather than being a simple German translation. "Der Applaus ist groß" (The applause is great), became "Hear the screaming ...

Augen Auf!
"Augen auf!" ( en, "Eyes Open!") is the first single from the German industrial metal group Oomph!'s album ''Wahrheit oder Pflicht'', and their first released under the GUN label. "Augen auf!" is considered to be the most known Oomph! song and brought the band commercial success. The song topped the German Singles Chart for five weeks and the Austrian Singles Chart for four weeks. "Augen auf!" was certified gold in both countries. A version of the song with English lyrics was featured on the compilation album ''Truth or Dare'' in 2010, under the new title "Ready or Not (I'm Coming)." The song featured slightly altered lyrics instead of being a direct German-to-English translation. Music video The videoclip for "Augen auf!" begins with two children aged around six or seven years old walking down a deserted path together. The girl turns to look at someone or something coming up behind them, while her male companion seems oblivious. It is then revealed that the pair are heading to ...

Industrial Metal
Industrial metal is the fusion of heavy metal and industrial music, typically employing repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals. Prominent industrial metal acts include Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Godflesh, and Fear Factory. Industrial metal developed in the late 1980s, as industrial and metal began to fuse into a common genre. Industrial metal did well in the early 1990s, particularly in North America, with the success of groups such as Nine Inch Nails, but its popularity began to fade in the latter half of the 1990s. History Early innovators Though electric guitars had been used by industrial artists since the early days of the genre, archetypal industrial groups such as Throbbing Gristle displayed a strong anti-rock stance. British post-punk band Killing Joke pioneered the crossing over between styles and was an influence on major acts associated with industrial metal such as Ministry, Go ...
