Rohan Sabharwal
Rohan Sabharwal (born Rohan Ajay Sabharwal on 10 October 1979) is an Indian filmmaker. Family life and education Sabharwal was born in the city of Mumbai. He is the elder of two sons born to a Punjabi father and a Catholic mother of mixed Goan- Portuguese and Anglo-Irish descent. He finished his schooling at the Lawrence School, Lovedale in 1996. He is a graduate of the London Film School, London, UK under the guidance of Oscar-nominated Mike Leigh O.B.E. Film career After graduating from film school in 2006, the same year that he edited the award winning commercial 'Sarah and Wendy' which won the Kodak Student Commercial Award in the UK, he left London to pursue a career in film and television in India. Celebrate Bandra is the biennial cultural festival of Bandra, Mumbai that showcases the best the suburb has to offer in heritage, music, sport, theatre, literature & poetry, food, art and film. Farmers' Suicides In India
Farmer suicides in India refers to the national catastrophe of farmers committing suicide since the 1970s, due to their inability to repay loans mostly taken from private landlords and banks. NCRB data shows that the incidence of farmer suicides has remained high in the 6 years between 2014 and 2020. 5,600 farmers committed suicide in 2014, and 5,500 farmers committed suicide in 2020. If you add agri labourers to the 2020 number, the number of suicides rises to over 10,600.(CNBC report August 12, 2022) The National Crime Records Bureau of India reported that a total of 296,438 Indian farmers had committed suicide between 1995-2014.
