Rogue (2007 Film)
''Rogue'' is a 2007 Australian independent horror film written, produced and directed by Greg McLean, about a group of tourists in Australia who fall prey to a giant, man-eating crocodile. It stars Radha Mitchell, Michael Vartan, and Sam Worthington. The film was inspired by the true story of Sweetheart, a giant male saltwater crocodile that attacked boats in the late 1970s, although Sweetheart was never responsible for an attack on a human. ''Rogue'' received positive reviews from critics, but was a commercial failure. It is the second and last film from Dimension Films to have the involvement of Village Roadshow Pictures, the other being 1992's ''Fortress''. Greg McLean (film Director)
Greg McLean is an Australian film director, producer and writer, best known for his work in horror films. He rose to fame in 2005 with his debut feature film, ''Wolf Creek (film), Wolf Creek'', creating one of Australia's most memorable and horrific characters, Mick Taylor (fictional character), Mick Taylor (played by John Jarratt). Sweetheart (crocodile)
Sweetheart was the name given to a male saltwater crocodile responsible for a series of attacks on boats in Australia between 1974 and 1979. Sweetheart attacked outboard motors, dinghies, and fishing boats, but there is no known case of his attacking humans. In July 1979, Sweetheart was finally caught alive by a team from the Territory Parks and Wildlife Commission, but drowned while being transported when he became tangled with a log. Kakadu National Park
Kakadu National Park is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia, southeast of Darwin. It is a World Heritage Site. Kakadu is also gazetted as a locality, covering the same area as the national park, with 313 people recorded living there in the 2016 Australian census.
