Rogue (Marvel Comics)
Rogue is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, mostly in association with the X-Men. The character was created by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden, and first appeared in '' Avengers Annual'' #10 in 1981. In her comic book appearances, Rogue is portrayed as a mutant, a fictional subspecies of humans born with an "X-gene" that grants superhuman abilities. She is capable of absorbing the life force, attributes, memories, and superpowers of anyone through physical touch. Rogue is initially depicted as a reluctant supervillain, but she soon joins the X-Men as a superhero and has since endured as one of its most prominent members. ''Rogue'' was a Chicago-based men's magazine published by William Hamling from 1956 until 1965. Founding editor Frank M. Robinson was followed by other editors, including Harlan Ellison and Bruce Elliott. The magazine was subtitled "''Designed for Men''." ''Rogue for Men'' The magazine was a direct competitor to ''Playboy'', offering nude and semi-naked photographs and sex advice aimed at a male audience. ''Rogue Trooper'' is a science fiction strip in the British comic '' 2000 AD'', created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons in 1981. It portrays the adventures of a " Genetic Infantryman" named Rogue and three uploaded minds mounted on his equipment who search for the Traitor General. The series was rebooted in 1989 in the story "The War Machine", featuring a new version of the character called Friday. This version of the character last appeared in 1996. The original character returned in 1999 and all stories since then have featured the original Rogue. The character has also featured in a number of ''2000 AD'' crossovers. ''Rogue'' (also known as ''Rogue: Exploring the Dungeons of Doom'') is a dungeon crawling video game by Michael Toy and Glenn Wichman with later contributions by Ken Arnold. ''Rogue'' was originally developed around 1980 for Unix-based mainframe systems as a freely distributed executable. It was later included in the official Berkeley Software Distribution 4.2 operating system (4.2BSD). Commercial ports of the game for a range of personal computers were made by Toy, Wichman, and Jon Lane under the company A.I. Design and financially supported by the Epyx software publishers. Rogue is a professional esports organization with teams competing across several different titles in Europe and the United States. It has two ''League of Legends'' teams based in Europe: a main team that participates in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), and an academy team that participates in Poland's national league, the Ultraliga. Rogue Ales is a brewery founded in 1988 in Ashland, Oregon. The company brews their own beer, distills their own spirits, farms their own ingredients and coopers their own barrels. Rogue has locations in Oregon and Washington.
