Roger Åkerström
Roger Åkerström (born 5 April 1967) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player, currently employed as an assistant coach with Luleå HF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, formerly named Elitserien). Playing career Born in Överkalix, Norrbotten, Åkerström grew up in Luleå. He was drafted in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round as 170th overall by the Vancouver Canucks, but he never played a single National Hockey League (NHL) game. Åkerström played for Luleå HF in 19 of his professional seasons and won the Swedish Championship with the team in 1996, scoring the Championship-clinching goal. Åkerström is perhaps best known for being a former record holder as the player with the most Elitserien games—regulation and playoff games included—with 911 games, 792 of these with Luleå HF. Luleå HF
Luleå Hockeyförening is an ice hockey club from Luleå, Sweden. The club has been playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden, since the 1984–85 season. They are the northernmost team in the league and have won the Swedish championships once, in 1996. Since being promoted to the top flight (then called Elitserien) in 1984, the team has not once had to participate in a promotion/relegation-qualifier to defend their spot in the top league. Mikael HÃ¥kanson
Mikael Håkanson (born May 31, 1974) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player who last played with the Linköpings HC team in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, formerly named Elitserien or SEL), the top-tier league in Sweden. Playing career Håkanson used to be the record holder for the amount of SHL games played, both for the number of regular season games played and the combined total number of games played including playoff games. He surpassed Roger Åkerström's combined record on September 22, 2011, when he and his Linköpings HC team played a game against Skellefteå AIK at Cloetta Center which ended 4–0 in Skellefteå's favour. It was his 912th game. At the time of his retirement after the end of the 2011–12 season, he had played 950 SHL games, 808 of which were regular-season ones. The Sweden men's national ice hockey team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i ishockey) is governed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
