Roger Ryberg
Roger Ryberg (born 16 April 1952 in Kirkenes) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He has held the position as county mayor of Viken since 2020. He previously served as county mayor of Buskerud from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2019. Following the 2007 election, Ryberg became the new county mayor (''fylkesordfører'') of Buskerud. Behind him was a coalition of the Labour Party, the Socialist Left Party, the Centre Party and the Liberal Party, who kept the right-wing candidate Mette Lund Stake at bay with 22 versus 21 votes in the county council. Before being elected county mayor, Ryberg had been mayor of Hurum municipality. He also served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Buskerud during the term 1989–1993. Following the 2019 Norwegian local election, he was elected as the county mayor of the newly established Viken county. Viken (county)
Viken is a county under disestablishment in Eastern Norway that was established on 1 January 2020 by the merger of Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold with the addition of three other municipalities. Viken was controversial from the onset, with an approval rating of about 20% in the region, and the merger was resisted by all the three counties. Viken has been compared to gerrymandering. The county executive of Viken determined in 2019, before the merger had taken effect, that the county's disestablishment is its main political goal, and the formal process to dissolve Viken was initiated by the county executive in right after the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election in which parties seeking to reverse the merger won a majority. Buskerud County Municipality ( no, Buskerud fylkeskommune) was the regional governing administration of the old Buskerud county in Norway. The county municipality was established in its most recent form on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Buskerud was merged with the neighboring counties of Akershus and Østfold, creating the new Viken county which is led by the Viken County Municipality. Filtvet
Filtvet is a small village along the Oslofjord in Asker municipality, Viken county, Norway. Location Filtvet is a 45-minute journey to Oslo by car and has become a popular tourist destination during summer. Accommodation consist principally of camping sites. Filtvet lighthouse (''Filtvet fyr'') is on the west side of Oslofjord at the entrance to Oslo. The lighthouse was deserted in 1985 and a beacon placed in front of the lighthouse has since replaced the lighthouse. Filtvet Church Filtvet Church (''Filtvet kirke'') dates from 1894. The church was built of timber and has 200 seats. Both the property and timber for construction of the church were given to the local inhabitants by ship owner C. A. Jørgensen. 2019 Norwegian Local Election
Local elections were held in Norway on 9 September 2019. Voters elected representatives to municipal and county councils, which are responsible for education, public transport, health, and elderly care, and for the levy of certain taxes. The local election was the first since the consolidation of municipalities and counties, reducing the number of counties from 19 to 11, and number of municipalities from 429 to 356. Despite the formal date of the mergers being 1 January 2020, the election proceeded with the new borders and divisions as the term of office began the same day.
