Roger Miret
Rogelio de Jesus Miret (born June 30, 1964) is a Cuban American musician. He is the vocalist for New York hardcore band Agnostic Front, street punk group Roger Miret and the Disasters, and hardcore band The Alligators. Agnostic Front are considered to be "the godfathers of hardcore" and one of the bands that created the New York scene. Personal life Miret was born in Havana, Cuba. He is the older half-brother of Madball frontman Freddy Cricien. The two have the same mother, who is of Cuban descent, and different fathers, hence the different last names. Miret and his family fled Cuba to escape the Castro regime. They came to the United States in 1968 and settled in New York. Miret was incarcerated on a drug charge in the late 1980s, spending almost two years in jail. In a 2011 interview, he stated that he became involved in it because he was living in poverty, squatting buildings, and his then-partner was pregnant. Agnostic Front
Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Founded in 1980, the band is considered an important influence on the New York hardcore scene, as well as a pioneer of the crossover thrash genre. History First era (1980–1992) Formed in 1980 with Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Capuccio (formerly of the Eliminators) on lead guitar, with Diego on bass, Rob Krekus on drums and John Watson on vocals. Despite being billed at their first concert as the Zoo Crew, Stigma introduced them as Agnostic Front, saying that the poster had been made prior to deciding on the name. They soon added Ray Barbieri, aka Raybeez, on drums and Adam Mucci on bass. After Watson was arrested, the band hired James Kontra as their vocalist, who eventually quit before a performance at Great Gildersleeves after a disagreement with Capuccio about how to hand out stickers. Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements. ''Another Voice'' is the eighth full-length studio album from New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in November 2004 on Nuclear Blast Records (January 2005 in the US) and follows 2002's split album with Discipline, ''Working Class Heroes''. It was the first recording on the label and was co-produced by Jamey Jasta of the band Hatebreed. It features many guest vocal spots. 2006 saw the release of another live album, ''Live at CBGB – 25 Years of Blood, Honor and Truth''. ''Dead Yuppies'' is the seventh full-length studio album from New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in September 2001 on Epitaph Records and follows 1999's ''Riot, Riot, Upstart''. Due to the title, the release of the album was delayed in America and a sticker was placed on the cover by the record company following the September 11 attacks. The track "Love to be Hated" appears on a volume of Epitaph Records' Punk-O-Rama compilation series, but the band left the label shortly after release and recorded a split album with Discipline, ''Working Class Heroes'', in 2002 before signing to Nuclear Blast Records in 2004. ''Something's Gotta Give'' is the fifth full-length studio album by New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in June 1998 on Epitaph Records and follows 1995's ''Raw Unleashed'' compilation album. It is actually the first studio album since 1992's '' One Voice''. The album was co-produced by Billy Milano, the frontman of crossover thrash bands S.O.D. and M.O.D. The album marks a return to a more hardcore punk style of sound, rather than the thrash metal inspired music of ''One Voice''. Backing vocals, amongst others, were provided by Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen of Rancid, and Jimmy Gestapo of Murphy's Law. Another album swiftly followed in 1999, ''Riot, Riot, Upstart''. ''Last Warning'' is a compilation album by hardcore punk band Agnostic Front. It was released in 1993 on Relativity Records, marketed by Roadrunner Records, and follows 1992's studio album, '' One Voice''. The first eleven tracks—often consisting of two songs strung together—were recorded live in December 1992 at CBGB in New York City. The remainder of the CD is the band's 1983 7" EP, ''United Blood''. It contrasts the later crossover thrash style the band had adopted in later releases with the raw New York hardcore style of their debut release. ''One Voice'' is the fourth full-length studio album from New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in 1992 on Relativity Records. It marks a three-year absence from recording – the last album was ''Live at CBGB (Agnostic Front album), Live at CBGB'' in 1989 – after Roger Miret's term of imprisonment. However, the comeback was short-lived as after ''Last Warning'' (another live album), the band split up and did not record again until 1998. Musically, the band continued their lean towards crossover thrash which earned the interest of Roadrunner Records who distributed this and their next album under license. Liberty is the ability to do as one pleases, or a right or immunity enjoyed by prescription or by grant (i.e. privilege). It is a synonym for the word freedom. ''Cause for Alarm'' is the second full-length studio album by New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in 1986 on Relativity/Combat Records and follows 1984's ''Victim in Pain''. The album is still available on a split release with ''Victim in Pain'' on the same disc. Overview The addition of a second guitarist Alex Kinon led to a more metallic approach, although the songs still had mostly a hardcore sound.
