Roger K. Kirby
Roger K. Kirby (born April 20, 1960) is an American politician. He is the member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 101st District, serving in the House since 2015. Kirby is a member of the Democratic party. He is Assistant Minority Leader of the House. Kirby serves on the Labor, Commerce and Industry as well as the Legislative Oversight Committee. SC House District 61 was held by Kirby, but after redistricting created a new geographic District, Kirby defeated Democratic incumbent Cesar McKnight in the June Primary and went on to win SC House District 101 unopposed. Kirby joined House members Todd Rutherford and Deon Tedder in forming the Freedom Caucus of South Carolina, in contrast to the conservative SC Freedom Caucus. Florence County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 137,059. Its county seat is Florence. Florence County is included in the Florence, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county's population is about 60% urban. History Florence County was formed from main sections of Darlington and Marion Counties plus other townships from Williamsburg and Clarendon Counties, starting in 1888. Furman University
Furman University is a private liberal arts university in Greenville, South Carolina. James Todd Rutherford (born October 10, 1970 in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American politician and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 74th District since 1999. He is the Minority Leader of the House. Early life and education Rutherford graduated from W.J. Keenan High School in 1988. Rutherford earned his bachelor's degree from Howard University in 1992. The Freedom Caucus, also known as the House Freedom Caucus, is a congressional caucus consisting of conservative Republican members of the United States House of Representatives. Lake City, South Carolina
Lake City is a city in Florence County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 6,675 at the 2010 census. Located in central South Carolina, it is south of Florence and included as part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The Lake City area was originally part of Williamsburg Township, which was first settled by a group of Scots-Irish in 1736. It was first called "Graham's Crossroads" and then "Graham", after Aaron Graham, a land owner around the crossroads that now form Church and Main streets in Lake City. In 1856, the Northeastern Railroad built its main line through the area. This brought new growth to the community.
