Roger Joseph Everest
Roger Joseph Everest, (born 1939) is a Welsh barrister and independent parliamentary candidate. He was educated at Llandaff Cathedral School, Kingswood School, Bath, and the University of Wales. He contested the Caerphilly constituency for the Conservative Party in the February 1974 general election, and the Brecon and Radnor by-election in July 1985 as a One Nation Conservative. He fought the 1997 Winchester by-election as an independent and fought the 1999 Eddisbury by-election and the constituency of Cheltenham in the 2001 general election under the same banner. He defended Robert Ashman on charges of murder of Andrew Pennington and attempted murder of the Liberal Democrat MP, Nigel Jones MP. He later stood as an independent candidate against Nigel Jones in Cheltenham. In 2003 he gained some attention to his claim that he had been refused an appointment as a circuit judge because he was not a Freemason. Llandaff Cathedral School
The Cathedral School, Llandaff (Welsh: ''Ysgol y Gadeirlan, Llandaf'') is a coeducational independent day school located in Llandaff, a district north of the Welsh capital Cardiff. Originally established as a choral foundation to train choir boys for the affiliated Llandaff Cathedral, it is now part of the Woodard Schools foundation and continues to provide choristers for the cathedral. It is the only surviving Anglican choir school in Wales and is a member of the ISC, IAPS and the Choir Schools Association. Murder Of Lynette White
Lynette Deborah White (5 July 1967 – 14 February 1988) was murdered on 14 February 1988 in Cardiff, Wales. South Wales Police issued a photofit image of a bloodstained, white male seen in the vicinity at the time of the murder but were unable to trace the man. In November 1988, the police charged five black and mixed-race men with White's murder, although none of the scientific evidence discovered at the crime scene could be linked to them. In November 1990, following what was then the longest murder trial in British history, three of the men were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. In December 1992, the convictions were ruled unsafe and quashed by the Court of Appeal after it was decided that the police investigating the murder had acted improperly. The wrongful conviction of the three men has been called one of the most egregious miscarriages of justice in recent times.
